Unbelievable that the only active player of the 2015 draft is Dupree. The rest are either cut or inactive. Talk about horrible drafting!

Wow, bad news that Tez is inactive. Dont think he is going to recover from whatever ails him. Sweed part II.

How often do we get serious contributions from multiple rookies in week 2?

Our first 7 picks are all still on the team, and I expect real long-term success from at least 3-4 of them, with contributions from others.

He will get the opportunities Sweed didn't. He'll rebound at least partially. Depends how much.

I'm glad you weren't in charge when Martavis Bryant dropped his first pass.

Sweed had one season of "opportunity" in which he sat on the bench 95% of the time. He demonstrated over and over the ability to scorch defenses, and he did it in so few attempts, the numbers are pretty mind-boggling. Seemed like every time he was out there he was flying over the top with ease. For a team that didn't have a guy who could do that at the time (this was pre-Wallace, and Holmes and Ward weren't getting behind defenses deep), that was an entirely new dimension to the team.

Unfortunately, he dropped some big passes. You know who else drops passes? Everyone. Rookies need time to work through their mistakes, especially when their replacement (in this case Nate Washington) also drops passes like crazy. Sweed's issue was clearly mental. He needed confidence. He needed to redeem himself. A guy with that kind of potential you shouldn't just throw away. It's simply not the same as if Tyler Grisham comes out and drops a pass. A guy like Sweed, you play him anyway, to get him better, to turn him into the weapon he's shown he can be.

But they didn't do that. They probably thought they were putting him on a 3 year plan, like Cam Heyward. "Let's just put him on the shelf and let him try again in 3 years." Unfortunately while sitting on the bench in year 2 he had some kind of mental breakdown, and then the next year he tore his achilles. Maybe it wouldn't have worked out anyway, but I know the coaches butchered the chance they had. In the words of the offensive coordinator BA, "I forgot he was on the team." You can say that's an indictment of Sweed, but we both know that is some astoundingly bad coaching.

I like your signature though. :smiley1:

The guy faked an injury to keep from looking bad when he dropped a pass. He was here 3 years and did diddly squat. And apparently no other team wanted him. You don't keep guys like that around.

Regarding you not wanting me in charge, heck, I don't want me in charge.

Sucky thing though is that he's coming in at a much steeper price than Sweed. Boykin made a play today though so that's good.

Sweed is the definition of bust. I was a Sweed defender but the guy is a bust.

I was EXTREMELY happy when we drafted him. I have no problem admitting that. I mean it seemed even the Steelers agreed with us at the time ya know? But yeah he's a colossal bust.

The ONLY positive play I can ever think of him making was in the San Diego game when he dropped a sure TD but then LEVELED a guy on a block. Other than that, I can only think of him dropping passes and doing nothing.

Beautiful block. One thing that often goes unnoticed: Heath Miller also destroyed his guy, and he wasn't even blindsided. :smiley1: 2 Steelers vs. 2 Ravens go in, 2 Ravens on the ground.

YEP! That's the one I was thinking about. Ouch! Thought it was in the Chargers game though. Even better to see him lay out a rat.
