    Rainey just returned a punt and a kick for touchdowns tonight against my Calgary Stampeders.

    Should the Steelers reaquire him and save some potential wear on Ab?

    I guess with Bryant, his tolerance for problem children has increased. He has to be better than Archer, but I don't see the steelers making this move.

    We already signed our guy in Jordan Todman he should be in the return game tomorrow ,I hope . Todman is ranked like 6th. in the NFL in Kick returns and Archer is near the bottom...

    Need to get Todman involved now so the Team can move on from Archer when Bell gets back...

    Since he wont be playing against CFL talent, no.

    Besides, already have Rainey on the team, Archer. Oh no I didn't!

    I don't want to sign Rainey either, but he showed way more talent and potential in his short stint with the Steelers than Dri Archer has so far.

    I wouldn't go as far as 'way more', Jack. Stats-wise they're much of a muchness, and the only substantive thing he's shown more of, in comparison to Archer, is battery charges and violations of team rules.

    If I remember correctly, Rainey showed much more explosiveness in the return game than Archer ever has. Not trying to make a case for signing him, but he was more impactful than Archer has been thus far.

    Jack has been known to exaggerate from time to time :smiley1:

    On a collegiate level, I think Archer is more talented than Rainey. In the pros, Rainey was definitely better in the return game to this point, the rest was nothing to write home about. I'd like to see Archer be given more of a chance before declaring who is better, I'd like to see several players be given a chance at their respective positions.

    Imo Archer is just a body in the present of a 53 man roster nothing more. If Rainey becomes an option... sign him.

    I think there is a better chance of them bringing back Morris or Foster then Raniey

    Archer is showing little to no growth, how long do you give a "useless" player ? You know very well Rainey was starting to pop prior to leaving and was making some good returns. After he left several here on the board said we should have kept him. I'm just not seeing the potential in Dri. I know you feel he needs time, but i don't see time working in his favor. Again..my opinion! :smiley1:

    I don't want Rainey back but Archer has done nothing since he has been in the Burgh. He is taking up a roster spot that could be used by a player that could produce. What the coaches see in Archer during practice must be different than game day.

    Rainey had 2 TD's as a Steeler, Archer 0
    Rainey had 103 yards rushing , Archer 40
    Rainey had 60 yards receiving , Archer 23
    Rainey had 1035 yards in Kickoffs, Archer 183

    Rainey had double the receptions and almost triple the rushing attempts. I certainly hope he has better stats, which he barely does. The only thing he significantly eclipsed him on was kickoff returns but again, had 39 returns to Archers 9.

    I would give Archer the rest of this year, I don't think 2 seasons is too much to ask to give for a 3rd rd pick. If he hasn't shown anything, or worse they still aren't even giving him a chance, then cut him loose.

    The point of my previous post though was that they are both pretty useless in regards to rushing and receiving. And I wasn't one of the ones who wanted Rainey back ;)

    Considering how he did nothing for the Colts either, he was no great loss.

    Exaggerate?! Pfft! You know as well as I do that Rainey was more impactful and explosive while he was here than Archer has been up to this point. In fact, I'd put Rainey's ability in the return game right up there with Glenn Edwards in 1974. :eek:
