Lawrence Timmons Restructured

    The Steelers have restructured Lawrence Timmons' contract. $6.63 Mil of his $7.5 Mil salary salary was rolled into a signing bonus. The move adds apx $3.32 Mil in cap space for this year.

    His '15 cap hit drops from $12.5 Mil to $9.25 Mil, but his '16 cap hit rises from $11.8 Mil to $15.1 Mil.

    It seems the Team is clearing lots of money . Seems we may have a target. Since the Team can't draft DB'S very well maybe they are going to trade for one . Can someone say Kam Chancellor from Seattle .

    He is holding out and rumors of trades going on .He would be a perfect guy for us.

    They might be trying to resign Beachum. Why would the team want to bring in a disgruntled player that's holding out for more money? I believe it would cause internal issues with other players on the team.

    Why is because we need a good Safety. The Team would be very happy . Players want to win and they would know the adding of Kam would increase those odds greatly.

    I don't blame him for holding out , he is the best in the game at his position he deserves to get paid.

    I'm not sure of the updated number but I know its not a huge amount with 8 million tied up on players on the IR.

    Sorry brother but this type of stuff can cause internal issues. You think Antonio Brown, who wants more money would be happy? How about some of the other players that have contributed to this team's success? Even though you don't hear about it this stuff goes on.

    Most players want money first and then they want to win. It's a business. The Seahawks just gave him a contract extension worth 28 million in 2013. Now he wants more money. I'd be shocked if the Steelers took on a player like that.

    At some point maybe today could you get us an updated status on were we stand currently with the cap, with The IR, PUP, IR/return, PS, Roster and dead money it gets confusing .....

    They may re-sign Beachum this week and needed the cap space to get it done. I'm all for a Kam Chancellor trade they can have Shamarko and a draft pick for him.

    Oh, it's nowhere near that. More like $5 Mil under after this restructure.

    Sure thing, Cajun. It might not be today as I'm pretty swamped, but I can tell you it's rough ballpark $5 Mil give or take right now after restructuring Timmons.

    Oh OK I read on Twitter it was 13 but I thought that was high with all the guys on IR. I bet they didn't take that in account because without that we would be around 13.
