Awesome! I remember that Pats game and the Eagles game like they were yesterday. Went to the Jets playoff game that year with my dad and my brother too. Sat right behind the goalposts that the jets kicker doinked twice late in the game. Had an awesome time!

 

Good times, hrd to believe that was 11 years ago, time goes bye so fast

 

I was a senior at Duquesne that year...what an unbelievable year it was. I went to the opener (the one with the weird Bettis stat line of 5 rushes for 1 yard and 3 TDs), the Redskins game, the Eagles game (how fun that was), and (unfortunately) the AFCC. Blocked most of that one out.
However, it is the regular season Pats game that I watched on my TV from my little apartment on the South Side that I remember most vividly. It was on Halloween, late afternoon start, and you could feel the electric atmosphere from the stadium coming through the broadcast. Steelers dominated from start to finish, but I remember absolutely losing it when Deshea returned the int for the TD. Unbelievable feeling.

It's hard to believe that season was so long ago now. I remember many of those games like they were played yesterday. I just hope we get to relive another regular season similar to that one once again.

Yup steelers are basically irrelevant. Why even play right?

On the America's Game episode for this season, this is dressed up hilariously.

Basically, it's all about how the Steelers were celebrating too much, and being all big-headed, and how the Pats felt they were going to take them down if they got the chance to meet them again. I.e. setting up the AFCCG.

So the Steelers end the longest winning streak, and because they *dare* to celebrate, that pisses the Pats off. I mean, how could they, right? Such bad sportsmen... Gah, even in retrospective documentaries I hate the Pats.
