A buddy of mine, who is va tech fan, said we should let farrior go and play jason at ilb. I said he was to big and he reminded me of kirkland. they dont come much bigger that levon. I know he is fast enough but can he cover. the outside backers cover some but I dont know how or if that would work. thought I would ask

I miss the days of having a big thumper inside like Levon and Kendrell for a couple short years. We used to be able to bring big time heat up the middle, nowadays you never see them get good consistent pressure up the gut. We need to find a good ILB in this years draft that can do that for us.

we have one but they had him in pass coverage and filling in at OLB for most of the season. timmons is a great pass rusher up the middle. farrior and footes pass coverage skills have taken him away from that. foote always had a hard time blitzing , farrior was decent but again that was then.

He couldnt be no slower than farrior or foote plus he is stronger. Foote has to go this offseason, we pay that guy $3m. way too much.

You forgot Earl Holmes, he used the lay the lumber pretty good in the run game.

    Timmons? A good blitzer? eh...doubtful.

I don't see where Timmons is a good pass rusher up the middle. He is good if no one is there to block him because he has the speed to get to the quarterback unblocked.

We need someone like (kirkland, Bell and Holmes) that can basically bull right over a guard or running back just like they use to do.

when we use him that way he's effective. 2009 he had 7 sacks kirschke and eason at DE. 2010 3 sacks ziggy hood at DE most of the season. 2011 2 sacks none of them from the OLB spot. they also had him in more of a coverage role. harrison and woodley had 9 each this year. whats changed? ziggy hood as DE ?

I don't think worilds or timmons is strong enough yet to play inside backer. Heck worilds was getting thrown around a lot at outside backer, all he showed me was a speed rush all the way around and usually falling down in rushing. He needs to get stronger and develop better skills in pass rushing. I think he was disapointing in play when he got a chance.
