Is it likely Grant and Chickilo get put on once they've cleared waivers?

You gotta feel for chick, he got himself in the shape they wanted, hustled his butt off, told he made the roster then cut for an unusual 7th DL. If he's signed to the PS he'll make around 10% of what he thought just yesterday.

His GF was so proud as well... hate to see hopes dashed. But seeing what he did in camp makes me think he'll work his ass off to get into the 53 again.

Harrison was cut a few times as well. Perseverance, hard work, willingness to learn and just plain "want to" goes a long way. Good luck to Chick. I think he has what it takes. He just won't be an "overnight success."

TTF could probably answer this better, but I think you have to cut to get down to 53 then sign guys to the practice squad?

We all have to be disappointed that the Steelers have once again failed to hit on a middle round defensive back in the draft. That doesn't speak well for the Colbert/Tomlin combo for the third or fourth year in a row. They've got to find a way to get this right. It certainly doesn't speak well for the prospects of this season.GO STEELERS!

I assumed Grant would make the team, just due to his pedigree...

He was getting beat handily against the Panthers late in the game, maybe he just doesn't have the athleticism?

OT Matt Feiler is reportedly joining the practice squad tomorrow. Feiler was waived by the Texans.

No. He'll probably get some workouts, but I'd be surprised if he's signed right away.

I've always been a big supporter of Colbert and his track record. I always ranked him right up there with the best GM's is terms of drafting. But the past 4 or 5 years, he is losing some of his luster. I am really getting tired of seeing them cut 4th and 5th Round picks in their first Pre Seasons. That represents a bad miscalculation of a guys' talent. 6th and 7th Round picks? Sure they get cut all the time, by every team. But dropping 4th and 5th rounders without even needing part of one season to realize they stink? Not acceptable.

What in the name of football is going on? I mean did they have to have the 10 player PS set up yesterday and so they just threw some guys on it? Don't think I have ever seen so much movement after the 53 is announced

Getting put on the PS isn't exactly minimum, wage, 6700 a week for 16 weeks comes to 107K, I doubt if any of these guys could make a 107K in the private sector this year...

Agreed! If Barrett's foot is ok from before, he can factor in at G/backup center.
