So much negativity here

Seriously... just wait for the season. Against GB our starters looked fine. There were some mishaps, but its a rebuilding defense and new scheme. If we can weather a 2-2 start, having Bryant and Bell back while hopefully having our D improve we can do some damage.

Relax, be patient, the sky is not falling....yet.

Our Depth is atrocious.... lets hope no vital injuries happen.

Agreed. I think as Steeler fans we aren't used to have a high powered offense, so when we see a bad defense we think it's all over. The fact is that this D can be mediocre and we will make a run with the talent on the other side of the ball.

 

We have just witnessed the 5th and final preseason game. DL is gone, Buts is in and the D at this point has shown nothing encouraging. Bell and Bryant are suspended and Pouncey is out.

Injurys are part of the game so they will happen and our backups look below avg.

I'm worried, but hopeful. Not all is lost but it will be a battle every game.

Yeah, the negativity runs thick here , but I think that's pretty much the rule for "internetting". Don't think it'd be any different on any other MB. Just gotta cancel out the negativity with an equal dose of optimism!

The defensive issues are troubling to a point, but I always say preseason is for experimentation, so don't lose it if things don't appear to be working.. it could easily be that a lot of the looks we showed won't be used during the season

 

Kind of what I was thinking too...I mean except for a select few who always spew negativity no matter what, I would say for the most part this is just different people offering their opinions.

 

funny thing is I saw the preseason rankings on bleacher report. Steelers were the worst and the only ones with a D ranking. lol.

 

I am expecting a 8-8 season and hoping for better,,, the real season starts with the Patsy's all I can do is wait and see what happens

I will be completely shocked and ecstatic of the Pats have less than 400 yards and 28 points against our D.

 

I really don't see a lot of negativity. Folks are concerned about the Defense. Very hard to make a case they shouldn't be worried. I think the O can carry the team but three starters are out for a while there, too. Not off to a great start but I'll remain forever hopeful.

Still, you can't be completely one sided which is what it looks like as of now and expect post-season this year. I agree though that if the D can reach some form of Mediocrity, proving at times to hold up in critical situations than we should be able to make the playoffs and maybe win a round or two.

The whole reason I joined this board is because it got so bad at the one's I frequented that I couldn't take it anymore. To me this site is a breath of fresh air.

 

I will agree this site is optimistic compared to others, but from a general standpoint we are spoiled lol. Let's beat those cheaters!

 

Yeah, this board is overly optimistic, to a point where I feel bad posting anything negative, as it may hurt some guys feelings.

 

We would have to pull Ray's mask off Scooby Doo style to reveal that it was Blast Furnace all along! LOL!
