Steelers Trading With Jags For A Kicker

I was a little bit late for Gary Anderson, but I always held Norm Johnson in high esteem. Solid. But then he pushed that FG right in the '97 Championship game and he was dead to me. Not really....but I haven't rooted for a kicker since.

 

I think I would be willing to roll the dice. The Jags were gonna get rid of the dude anyway, or they never would have agreed to the trade. Yes, there may have been other teams interested, but I just think a 6th rounder is a little steep to pay for someone who might not even be here next year.

so how much do we have invested in kickers for this year?

maybe this is the plan for defense. take all the kickers in the league out of play and sign them to our IR. could save us several points per game.

Yeah they are on the hook for 2.5 million this year for scobee, and they offered him a 2 year deal through 2016 which he turned down, but all told they have about a 5 million dollar cap hit for all 3 kickers this year, thats some expensive 3 pointers...
