I wonder how extensive the damage was to his ankle. I'd imagine he's looking at 5 to 6 months full recovery assuming all goes well.

Did he ever get surgery on that ankle the first time he hurt it last season? I don't like that it's the same ankle. When we drafted him I was happy knowing he would be a fixture at center for years to come. Not so sure that will happen now.

Back when training camp finally opened I remember looking on steelers.com and one of the pics taken had a bunch of guys standing in a semi circle. Pouncey had his shirt off and he looked terrible. Fat around the mid section and no muscle to be seen anywhere. It looked like he spent his off season playing video games eating Tasty Cakes. My point is...that picture along with news of this surgery and the down time it will incur really makes me not so optimistic of where our center will be when the new season rolls around.
I hope I am wrong! Maybe it will be different for everyone since there is no lock out to deal with.

I was just coming here to ask that very question. If he didnt, then I would say that this should fix the issue and he will manage to play the whole season. If he already had it repaired once, and I was thinking he did?, then this could be the start of a very big problem.....
