Tomlin just said Pouncey's ankle is probably going to be surgical. No timeline for his return.

Did he break something or tear something or what? I've not been able to see his presser.

Tomlin didn't give specifics. Just that it was probably going to need surgery.

Horrible news, I think Finney would get the nod over Dismukes as interior back up. Wallace should take over at Center. The FO will be definitely scrutinizing the waiver wire if this is long term.

Dang man. I was actually thinking about Pouncey the other day and thought about starting a thread asking people if if he stays healthy could be be a future Hall of Famer? Injuries have sidelined him a lot but he was going to pro bowls when most of the line was horrible ya know?

Wow that realllllllllly sucks. Why did it have to be him? I'm guessing Cody Wallace will take his place (he went in for him today.) He's no Pouncey but I think he'll get the job done. Hopefully.

Pouncey will be IR designated to return most likely, Tuitt has a sprained ankle.

According to the Post Gazette reporters, Pouncey has a broken ankle bone.

Wallace is very serviceable in the meantime.

Sprained ankles are actually pretty tough to get over though are they not? But does it depend more on whether it's high or low?

He's only been here since 2010, though it seems like he's been here for longer. If he continues on the path he's on now (minus the injuries) I don't see why he wouldn't make it into the Hall of Fame.

High ankle sprains can be much worse. One report has Pouncey out 8 weeks which supports the IR designated to return.

The words injury and Pouncey are starting to occur too often. A guy you need in the playoffs has consistently been non dependable early in the season. Championships are won with good dependable players.

I like Pouncey, I no longer believe we can depend on him.

Just heard that if it is a break, he'll be out a minimum of 8-10 weeks.

That re-signing of Cody Wallace is looking mighty smart right now.

Dulac says he broke his lower leg. I'm assuming, just assuming, it's probably a fibula fracture as that's the most common and weaker area. Impossible to know how long he'll be out due to lack of important information (type of break, surrounding tissue involvement etc).

Seriously, if one more person comments about Pouncey, and his injuries. He got rolled up, and had no chance to see it, or do anything about it! His injuries are not caused by himself and some type of reckless behavior. It's football!

Weak. Aldon Smith and Josh Gordon aren't dependable. Pouncey just got injured by another player. I don't think those are the same.

Not as bad as a broken bone and needing surgery like Pouncey, Tuitt should be ready for the opener against the Patriots.
