it is an interesting theory. Although not sure who would be in the market for LJ as a backup. Seems like a lot of better options out there.

 

There are 2 back up qb's on each team so there are 62 better options out there for LOLandry

 

After the way Mettenberger looked Friday night I would guess he would be at the top of the list for a team looking for a long term back up with the potential to win the starting job. Landry Jones I am not sold on and we better hope Ben stays healthy all season. Because if we end up with Landry playing we are in trouble... I hope we find a young guy to groom and develop to replace Ben. I don't feel Landry is that guy. Maybe he will prove me wrong...

 

Great news for Steeler Nation, the rumors that had come from camp of LJ getting better had to be from someone having a heat stroke. I have no more optimism- pockets are empty..The org. needs to put an end to this ongoing experiment ASAP... NEXT!!

So if Grad is just now making it back would it be safe to assume that IF he gets to play this week it will mean that we're still not gonna get to see Boyd? I would assume it will be Ben, Landry, and Grad. Anyone think any differently?

 

I'd say just giving him to Cleveland would be enough. But, them being them, they'll likely give us their first round pick next year for him.

 

In a weird way, this kind of bums me out because I really wanted to see Boyd. I imagine Boyd will never get in a game now with trying to get Grad some reps so he gets back into game shape.

 

The Boyd thing seems to be an exact replica of that guy last pre-season - forgotten his name - who people were touting as a replacement for Landry, but I think only played a ahndful of snaps if any at all.

That deal might work on Madden but doubtful in real life. At some point the organization needs to make a decision on LJ to determine whether he is more than just a third string guy. I would love to have someone on the roster to groom to take Ben's place in 4+ years...

 

Lol I'm pretty sure he was using some pretty heavy sarcasm, I know I was. I said Cam Thomas because he seems to be the 2nd most hated player by the fans next to Landry.

You all talk like mettenberger is the second coming, he played in 7 games last year, threw 7 picks and had 4 fumbles for 8 TDs, not any great shakes by any means, over rate him if you wish, but he is raw, and hasnt proved anything yet..........
