Fined the organization a Mill, and took 2016 1st round pick and 2017 4th round pick too... Screw them. Glad they got a harsher punishment that I thought.

    Ok,
First time poster, but every day reader. I have been a Steeler fan since I was 8 years old. (I'm 48 now.)
I had to post this somewhere and thought what better place than here:
Ok. I have to weigh in here.
Shoeless Joe Jackson – Lifetime ban from baseball for “guilty knowledge” of a conspiracy to fix the World Series. He tried to inform his owner of players who were dirty and even tried going to the coach to get himself pulled from a game.
Tom Brady – only gets four games for being at the very least “generally aware” of if not ordering the deflation of footballs.
Sean Payton- suspended for a season even though he claimed that he had no knowledge of the “bounty” placed on opposing players.
Bill Belichick – no penalty other than those to the team itself. (“As captain of the ship, I am responsible for the actions of my crew.” – Captain James T. Kirk)
The “Patriots” have been caught cheating twice now and still get a limited penalty?
How can “Shoeless Joe” get suspended for life from baseball even though he has Hall of Fame credentials and tried to do the right thing and Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, who have HOF credentials and tried to hide their actions, not get banned from football for cheating?

    Go Steelers!

    Great first post.

I suppose the argument against involving Belichick is that it wasn't a team-wide thing (which it was with the Saints). Not saying it's a good argument, but it may be the the one used.

Just a side thought: were a ban to be applied, I wonder how difficult it would be for the NFL to police as sneaksy a guy as Belichick's non-involvement with the team?

I agree however it is what it is and I could give a crap about weather we beat them with or without Marsha. I want a win and that is the bottom line, we have a tough schedule so the way I look at it this is a break for us.

Personally, I think the Pats and NFL should be ashamed of themselves. This Deflate-gate happened at the peak of the NFL playoffs.... and as a result, ended with the Pats winning the Super Bowl. If there was ever a time to strip a team of NFL titles, they should be the poster child. Come on really, taping the walk through before a Super Bowl wasn't enough. If they were using altered balls in the Championship game.... how many of their other wins were due to under inflated balls? Goodell is a joke, and as much as I love the Steelers.... the NFL is becoming a joke.

Somehow, the Patriots are still favored by one even without Brady according to ESPN. Apparently, they were favored by six with Brady at QB.

Actually it's not... New team, new personnel, new coaches etc.. The pats team we will face will look way different than the team that just won the super bowl too. New QB, NT, CB's, RB.

Besides, Billichick has lost to Mark Sanchez on multiple occasions (once at home in the playoffs), Matt Shaub, Colt McCoy, Kevin Kolb, and Ryan Fitzpatrick... I don't think listing all the bad QB's a coach has lost to means anything at all.

You would imagine from the way some talk, the Pats had been unbeaten for the past 15 years.

As for the outcome - I'm pleasantly surprised. It's harsher than I thought it would be. It still raises some awkward questions over the superbowl win, but it was a near-impossible situation to deal with.

Well, the 1 mill fine is a wash, since Bob Kraft dont have to pay the 4 mill brady will lose in salary for missing 4 games, how Billichick escaped without any punishment is puzzling to me since saints coach peyton didnt get a pass for not knowing about his team bounties. Isn't a double standard being applied here???

Yeah, I agree. It seems that the punishment would've been lighter if there was any cooperation at all... So thankfully they didn't haha I obviously wish it would've been harsher, but I'm also happy that it is what it is. I thought they'd get off way easier than this.

I'm sure Kraft cares. He's probably crying over this and trying to figure out how he can sue the Jets fans for being so mean!!!!
