That really sucks! Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks.

Their GM was quoted about how the injury prognosis looked so far...his response was one simple word: "Brutal"

A damn shame. Last year it was Clowney, which sucked seeing after what a force he was in college. I'm looking forward to seeing him hopefully heal up and show what he can do, God willing. There's no guarantee you're ever the same after microfracture surgery :-/

And then there's Lattimore from 2012....ughhh that one still sickens me

Either as a coach, teammate, or fan that makes you just sick. Never missed a game in college I don't think and now the #3 pick in the NFL and injured for the year on day 1. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Hate to think it'd do anything to his contract, but could it? I'm thinking with the new rookie scale that it won't but not sure

Contract/cap gurus can tell you better than me, but I believe the rookies and team sign an agreement stating that if they're hurt in offseason practices before they sign, the team will still honor the rookie contract guidelines in good faith. Meaning they will negotiate with the player as if they were not injured.

That's correct...he's protected by an injury agreement. His contract won't change because of the injury, and he'll be on IR once the ink dries on the contract.
