Don't bust me too bad, but why are the STEELERS not talking with this guy? Why have they not brought him in to interview him? New facts released today said the baby was not his and he is NOT a suspect. He could really stabilize our OL!!!!!! STEELER FRONT OFFICE sign COLLINS NOW!!!!!

Sure we can try, but I can't see him choosing to come here. As a UDFA there's not that much that any team can pay him. I think that the states without income tax are going to have an advantage. My guess is that he will end up in Miami. If I were in his shoes, that's what I would choose. Great weather. No income tax. LSU guys everywhere. An immediate need for starters on the O line. Young, up and coming franchise QB.

I would think going to play for a team with the best chance of winning a SB would be at the top of his list of priorities. Not saying thats us, just that it would be my preference on deciding where to play.

As an UDFA his best bet is to go somewhere that he has a chance to start soon. Then parlay that into a long term contract. That isn't us.

I read yesterday that several Dolphins players got on a private jet to try to recruit Collins. He had dinner with Rex Ryan, and has a meeting with the Cowboys lined up.

Yes, his only option is UDFA or request supplemental draft which was previously denied. Yeah, I'm sure if someone like the Pats signed him as UDFA, all hell would break loose because there's no way in hell they would have even had a chance before this news broke. Crazy stuff.

Dallas seems like a long shot because he'd have less chance of starting. Of course if he's a Cowboys fan, that could change things.

Why would anyone want to sign him??? He has diva written all over him, after his comments about not getting drafted on Friday he won't sign with anyone and enter next year's draft. Give me a break!!! This is a classic example for how all the owners need to man up and just black ball his ass entirely. Nobody sign this clown, you are not bigger than the game and there's hundreds more waiting to take your spot.

What??? I do not like Beachum, he is ok, but we need a better option. Collins could start right away if not next year and we could move Beachum inside.

What if the guy has absolutely nothing to do with his ex being murdered? He's a first rd prospect that tumbles to the late rds, hows that fair to him? I dont think he is being a diva at all. If he is indeed innocent, the guy got screwed, I feel bad for him.

He probably did not know he would not be allowed to enter next years draft, so now he has to sign with someone. I think we should step up and get him.

I don't like Collins as much as a tackle, and especially as a left tackle. Maybe right tackle, but we already have one that we like and pay pretty well too. IMO Collins is a really good G prospect and a meh T prospect. Beachum is a superior T option in my mind to Collins, but would not be that great of a G option. Logic tells me if we did get Collins, he's going to play inside... Not Beachum.

However if were talking LG then yes, Collins could replace Foster right away if that's the route we wanted to go.

Unfortunately he is gonna try to get big money on his next deal (which as a UDFA is in 3 years) since he missed out on the money he could've gotten being a first round selection this year. We will have big money invested in Pouncey, and DD and we will be paying Beachum well and already pay Gilbert fairly well too. We won't be investing that much money in the line and expect to afford guys like Bell or Bryant, or anyone on the defense that turns out to be a stud. We will live without Collins. I expect our chances of signing him are hovering around 0% right now, which doesn't really bother me much.

As of yesterday he hasn't been ruled out of the murder investigation, and according to Baton Rouge Police, no one will be ruled out until an arrest is made, so no team is going to sign him until he is officially ruled out, understandably no team is going to give up millions in a contract to someone who has that hanging over their head.....

He's signing with Dallas. 3 years, fully guaranteed according to initial reports.

Side note: Did anyone really think there was any chance he'd be a Pittsburgh Steeler? I don't mean due to character.

Damn....I had a feeling of the 3 teams that have been mentioned (Dallas, Miami and Buffalo)...that Dallas had to be the front runner. Their OL was pretty dang good before...and they add him? Dang.

    Oh well...

Not really...but still....come on Steelers...this was a golden opportunity. And you can bet he will play with a chip on his shoulder.

Or play with soap on a rope around his neck

Seems strange that anyone would fully guarantee a contract unless he was fully exonerated

At this point? No. But did he have any character concerns going back further?

I'm rather shocked anyone would sign him right now.

Apparently he wanted to go to Dallas...since it was his choice...and apparently all teams did contact him and such...and he just felt a connection with money bags Jones and such and picked them.
