Welcome to the Burgh Senquez Golson. Great ball skills, hard to see him covering big receivers, but he's a ball hawk.

Didn't you start a thread about not taking a cb in this round just a few minutes ago? Methinks somebody was a bit premature. After years of Ike, it's nice to see a guy with ball skills

Why do we keep drafting midgets for corners, happy now corner people another wasted draft pick, this makes the Dupree pick look so much better, if they're going to continue drafting midgets

He is listed at 5' 8" and 3/4 so he is likely at LEAST 5' 7" in reality. Hardly a midget, his hand can reach all the way up to A.J. Green and Julio Jones chin strap for criminey sakes

Why are guys so worried about big receivers?

    Next year...
    1) The #1 and #2 receivers are going to be covered by Cortez or William.
    2) In TWO years the Steelers could easily grab a free agent corner if he can't cover #1s
    3) Based on his ball skills he has the potential to be a solid #2 corner for the next 5 years

Again, Brice McCain was a good asset on this team last season as the #2 corner due to emergency. Let's give the guy a chance.

haha yea man, we got a 5' 5" safety in shamarko and 5'6" CB in B.W. Webb too .... were on our way baby!!!! We can just have them all chase Mike Evans and Kelvin Benjamin around the field trying to chew their shoe laces off in the hopes they trip and fall.....

Brice McCain left the steelers for the Miami Dolphins. I hope he has a chance to break both ankles.

William Gay is 30 and will be 31 .... getting older and slower but had a good year last year as the 3rd CB on roster

Cortez Allen was benched all last year and lost his confidence. He has never shown the ability to be a starting corner in the NFL. He was considered a project out of the Citadel a military college where football came second to everything else. He didnt have much experience. If you are counting on Cortez you already have the deck stacked against you via his all season benching. Hopefully he and become a starter but im not going to run the 2015 draft based on maybes and hopefullys

    Easily a "D-".

 WHY??????? What is Tomlin/Colbert's fascination with oompa-loompas?! Anyone else starting to think Tomlin is afraid of folks that are bigger than him? Anyone else tired of teeny tiny fragile players that are always injured, marginal in today's man-sized NFL, or one hit away from a broken wrist. I hate this midget garbage pick. Yet another Archer, Spence, etc..

Why take a practice squad corner at this point? If we wanted one we should have went for one of value instead of picking some guy that won't be on the team in three years. Keeping McCain would have been far better than throwing away a 2nd round investment on Pee-Wee Senquenz. Horrible pick.... if this was the 5th round. maybe.

Remember when draft day was about planned improvement not wasted opportunity?

Actually that is incorrect. Golson is not a project. He is a ballhawk. He had 10 INTERCEPTIONS LAST YEAR ALONE.TEN. He is also a hitter and a tackler. he gets his nose dirty. Best slot corner in the ENTIRE draft and projected as a real cover corner also.

He was projected as a 3rd rounder by many ONLY because is is five nine. He has elite ball skills and his only weakness is WRs over 6'4" tall. so for mike evans and kelvin benjamin he will need safety help or have a taller cb and safety tandem take those wrs

Most analysts said he is the best or one of the best CBs left on the board at the steelers pick near the end of the second round.

REMEMBER the steelers next pick is near end of third round. The best CB left on the board would not have lasted till the steelers third round pick

btw you could have taken alex carter instead and have a taller CB however he had only 2 interceptions his entire college career. Senquez Golson our second rounder had 10 just last year.

I would have avoided CB altogether after missing one of the top two. Better to sign a Band-Aid veteran to a one year contract on the cheap and then get serious in next year's draft.

I can appreciate everything you are saying Hi5Steeler and don't deny the truth in the kids heart. But everything you are saying sounds like what I felt about Jarvis Jones... and look how well that's gone. I'm not ready to give up on JJ but I don't want another questionable player drafted in rounds 1-2.

I watched Stump Mitchell pass George Rogers for most yards in college football. It was between 1979 and 1981. Parents day at the Citadel. Some good players do go there. Rogers did have most yards that year but the Cards bought out Mitchell's contract and he had a fair career with them, That day ended and Stump was the leading rusher in college that day.

You know what they call guys that are 6'4" that can catch? Wide Receivers. if you have height and can catch why in the world would they chose to play CB when WR is were the glory and money is at.

Golson is one of the best, more aggressive covers in this class. We'll need more but don't discount him yet. You just may end up loving this pick. Give him a chance first before judging him physically incapable.
