That's just us getting old cause I remember it too very clearly. Gotta love trading up on a USC boy from Oregon. What a trade that was!!!!

Troy, you'll always be the man! Best of luck in whatever's next in your life. Knowing what we do about you, I'm sure that what's next will help a lot of people who need it. Not only were you a superb football player, you're also a superb human being. :herewego::herewego::herewego:

This is a sad day for us Steeler fans but at some time it all comes to an end. We all know Troy was on his way out it just hurts when that day comes.

Troy thank you for 12 years of pleasure, 12 years of giving everything you had and 12 years of being a class act on and off the field. You will be missed but know you can never be forgotten. I am hoping to see Troy in some kind of roll with the coaching staff in the future.

Although this is a sad day this is also a day to reflect on what TP has given to us and this great football team. I consider myself a lucky man to have watched this man play and play at such a great level...........

Hard to imagine the Steelers without Troy.
This is going to take a little time to get used to. One of the all time greats for sure.

This was the greatest moment I witnessed live. The place went nuts, erupted, people hugging, was a thing of beauty.

Troy will go down as one of the greatest Steelers as he should. His path to Canton is paved with greatness. I'm glad he decided to retire. Even time catches up with the greatest. Thank you Troy for what you brought not only to the Steelers but the game of football...

I am crushed. Troy has been my guy for so long. Yes, I know it was time- doesn't make it any easier. I need a few days to process this. One thing I do know, is that I will be making a trip to Canton in five years :steelflag:

Was a pleasure to watch Troy make plays. Whether it be jumping the other teams center for a sack running someone down for a crucial tackle or making a much needed interception. (The pick 6 of Carson Palmer was my fave)

Sad but needed we will still miss you sir.

I can honestly say that Troy was so awesome that I think he would have been one of my all time favorite players even if he DIDN'T play for us. But the fact that he did is just icing on the cake.

My thoughts exactly. I'll miss seeing him on the field very much, but I wouldn't want him to play another year or two and end up going out on a sour note.
