I see where the Steelers just picked up another LB.Loads of competition coming in. But can any of them play? Has anybody heard anything On Ho Joe? His work out routine ETC.ETC?

I'm not to sure we see a high draft pick from this position this year. maybe if one falls in their laps, but I think they are keeping all options open and we will see a lot of competition open for that final OLB spot.

While I voted for Dupree in our mock draft, I'm not sure there will be a worthy OLB candidate at #22 either. Unless one of the top choices starts to fall and we trade-up, I don't believe we'll pick one either.

This just keeps them from having to reach in the draft. Toss in a couple of more CBs and they definitely can go BPA, particularly on defense.

Out of all our bodies at LB, none of them can get to the QB other than James, who is 36 years old. That is beyond problematic for our D and our team. Hippie lettuce toking Randy Gregory looks like the only possible decent 3-4 OLB that could fall to us. But even without the weed factor, Gregory has other red flags, such all he does is rush the passer, while not proving he can play the rush or cover anyone. I doubt Pgh is even considering him. Fowler, Beasley, Ray and Dupree will all be long gone, so I am thinking they go CB or S in round 1, but, they have shown an insistence to blow off CB in early rounds; they haven't taken a CB round 1 since Chad Scott, Deion Figures and Rod Woodson and Scott and Figures were mostly fail. If they wait until round 2 for CB, they could go with Eric Rowe.

If I'm reading this right, you have lost all credibility on this board...

You aren't reading this right, I said Scott and Figures were fail, not Woodson. You may have lost all credibility on reading and comprehension. :lolol:

:lolol: Yeah, you get the fail there, Lloyd.

But thats better than thinking Woodson was bad, though :smiley1:

Could this mean the Steelers are positioning
themselves to make a trade of some sort on draft day?

Corner 1st, OLB/DE 2nd, CB or safety 3rd. I also feel that we may see a trade up.

Of course we all want to see them get back to playing solid on Defense so it will be interesting to see what Butler has in store. I don't feel that the LeBeau influence will sway Butlers defensive scheme. It's his team now. Time to get back to the aggressiveness.

Hey all, my 1st football post might just as well be about one of our biggest needs. We may be crowed at LB but the bigger question is are they camp bodies or is this what Tomlin wants to work with?

I feel Jones needs to step up in this make or break year and JH was our best rusher last year but come on can he last the whole season at his age? Moats has played well but he isn't the answer either to our pass rush. I also feel that someone has to step up out of these young guys we have in Zumwalt, Lemon and Hojo. I liked Zumwalt coming out of UCLA and if he can stay healthy maybe we hit with something there.

The other issue is we didn't find what we needed in free agency and we didn't over pay for so so talent which I feel is a good thing. In the draft however I think 1st round is Dupree or Harold. I feel if we are going to fix this pass rush by the draft it has to start with these guys cause from what I see in this draft OLB is not very deep where as CB is a pretty deep class this year.

I know people want us to look at Peters or Johnson which are nice players but we could find some good players at CB all the way thru the 4th. The question is if we pass on an OLB in the 1st what is left, does Mauldin or Orchard last to our pick in the 2nd? I like Kikaha but his 2 knee injuries scare me and Golden at 2 may be a reach. After that who do we have, I am no draft guru but sprinkle in a few names for later on like Trail or Smith, who is out there in the draft that could provide help right away for us?

Well there you have it my 1st football post HERE I look forward to chatting steeler ball with you all.

Hey, the gloves came off with the "reading and comprehension" remark ;)

I'm not one to call people out for grammar, but he walked right into that one!

Right, it may seem crowded, but the crowd mostly consists of question marks followed by depth/camp competition.

The number of pass rushers in the top couple tiers is pretty good this year, but the drop off in talent after that gets steep. Good first post, btw.

I'm thinking this same thought. Vic Beasley sounds like a "Steeler" guy. I would trade next year's no. 1 and swap this year's to get him.

Bull sh-t. You claimed that I asserted that Woodson was fail, and I clearly did not. Your sloppy, rushed attempt at reading made you fail to accurately perceive the point.

Not written perfectly, but this is a sports Internet message board: perfect grammar is not expected, but simple comprehension usually is. So then you race to the grammar flame since you were fail in comprehension. And, in case you were't aware: Grammar fights on message boards are loathed by all. Just try to learn the lesson and move on; grammar fights are fail.

LOL...You wrote "and" three times in one sentence. I had no idea what the hell you were attempting to say, end of story. Just get over it and move on, not a big deal.
