What is the thought about this guy? Could he make a conversion to a 3-4 OLB?

Would you take him in the first round?

I do think he could fit well. I'd like nothing more than to steal the rats thunder. :smiley1::cool:

Jim Wexell is high on him. He seems to have a better feel than the mock draft gurus.

Personally I feel they need a starter out of the 1st. He would be a nice project, raw. Unless they have a feel on Harrison coming back.

I can see why the Ravens would like him, they seem to value size and strength on their front 7, where as the Steelers like speed and agility on the outside.

So apparently has some injury history with his hip that he had surgery on?

Yeah, he looks like a Steeler to me.

Mayock said that a lot of scouts have asked him what he would do with this kid and he said he thinks a 4-3 end is probably the best place for him. Although he does think that he could be a 3-4 olb.

I think we'd have to take him in the 1st though. He'd probably be considered a bit a reach at 22, but who cares if he's a badass.

I got to wonder if Butler being the DC will change up our drafting though. If Butler wants to be more hybrid in scheme, I wonder if we somehow find a spot for an Osi Yumenyiora 4-3 type guy???

In one of my mock drafts, I had Owa a#1 and Kevin Johnson at #2, pretty sure I could live with them as the top 2 picks for us.

He's a good player, and I agree with the assessment that he could be a better pro than college player. However, when I watch him play I still see a classic 4-3 DE. If you just look at the clips in the BTSC evaluation, his shift away from the classic 4-3 end spot are actually shifts inside to the 5 and 3 techniques, not outside. There's also the medical question. If we were a 4-3 team, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger at #22. As a 3-4 team, I'm a bit less certain and need to watch more film for signs that he can play as well in space as he does when engaged inside. Really good player though.
