I have a friend who covers a team for a sports station. he was telling that they are looking to get back in first round late. I ask what it would take just cause I didn't know. he said they would probably give 2nd and 1st next year. is that not steep? I got to thinking if the steelers done it would it be worth it. I kinda think it might.

22nd pick landon Collins or kevin Johnson either would be fine with me.

25 th from panthers nate orchard olb Utah

give up 2nd this year and 1st next year.

I would love to do it and come away with Collins and Johnson

    would it be worth it?

No. There is a decent chance we can get Orchard in the 2nd without trading up. If not, there is plenty of 2nd round depth at OLB

No. I wouldn't want to give up next year's first round pick... I'm all for trading up in the draft, but Orchard isn't a target I'd be interested in. I'm not really interested in a first round tackle either. I'd be totally okay with Johnson at 22 tho.

If Collins manages to fall and be the pick I'd be pleased.
Same here, but can't see it even being a remote possibility. Are you thinking La'el Collins?

i wouldn't trade a first rounder next year , since i fear he will a be a lot lower than this year one .. and there will be plenty of players we can choose from in the 2nd ..

Please, for the love of God don't go trading away future 1st round picks.

you wouldn't want landon? why? I am the opposite. la'el might not even be able to play left tackle. he struggled a lot this year. I think he projects as a guard or right tackle

I think you misunderstood me. My double negative might have thrown you off lol I wouldn't hate the Landon pick... meaning that I would be alright with it. He is a good player at a position of need, and could start for us immediately.

I wouldn't like the La'el pick. I don't really like any of the tackle prospects that could fall to us in the first and don't want to use our pick on a guard. I'm looking at CB, OLB, and S in the first. TE is an outside shot w/ Maxx Williams. I'd probably be pretty upset with taking a player that doesn't fall within those parameters

I would have to view it this way: is Nate Orchard worth two first round picks? Because we would use #25 on him and our first rounder next year. I think he would be a great addition, but that's too steep a price imo.

No way do I go for a deal like that. The more I watch, the more I think this draft is very lacking in talent outside of the top 15 picks or so other than some solid depth at corner and WR. I think that once you get past a few stars, the 2nd and 3rd round guys are close to the lower 1st round guys. I'd rather be on the other end of a trade like that. Give up pick 22 for a 2nd this year and a 1st next year.

I would rather have Jalen Collins LSU CB, than draft a safety in the first round.

The past few days I have been watching some more of Landon Collins and I am starting to see some deficiencies. I'm starting to change my opinion on him at 1.22 But Jalen Collins couldn't even start for his COLLEGE team, what do you see that makes him our pick in the first?

Have to agree with Tf. J Collins will be overdrafted, Rollins will be overdrafted, and the other darling, the quarterback who hasn't played CB at a major college level, at least in three years, will be overdrafted. We need someone who can step in this year and play, which is why I think the only corners of value at 22 are Waynes and Peters. Jury is still out on Kevin Johnson, but I don't think he's #22 material. And even though he won't be ready to start the season, or maybe even most of the season, I would take Ifo in the 2nd, because you know when he's ready he walks out as the nickle cb.

I'm more foregiving of Landon Collins. If he was perfect, he would go top 10, so there will be some deficiencies.

as I said in another thread ( I think) these boards will still adjust themselves before the draft. I do think Johnson could be a first rounder. rollins and PJ Williams I think will fall some. Collins is definitely not a first rounder for me.

times are changing as the league changes towards the passing league that they have made it. the thumper SS is becoming a thing of the past. to me it's almost become two coverage corners and two bigger corners now at safety. you better be able to run with any receiver, rb or TE out there and cover just as well as a good corner. my only concern about Johnson is strength. with the "picks" the nfl is letting teams get away with these days, you better be strong enough and quick enough to fight through them and still get to your coverage.
