this defense is horrible

I know everyone is gonna post the fire BA threads and they are gonna say Tomlin has to go or show more fire, but Mr. Lebeau can no longer get a pass. that was the worst game plan I have ever seen. the chiefs showed you what to do. press coverage. our secondary is so bad we made tebow look like a hall of famer. I am so mad right now I just need to vent, but that was the worst defensive performance we have had in a long time. If someone says the offense or special teams lost that game they are blind. the offense played good enough to win. 23 points should beat denver easily

I am so Pissed Off right now. You are right Steel, the defense SUCKS. Ike and Gay just stunk up the joint, they are terrible. I am no longer a Lebeau supporter. What the defense showed today was just horrible, and that is a direct fault on Lebeau.

Tomlin gets a fat "F" for letting this stuff happen. How can a defense in the NFL act like they never seen Option Football. How can they let TEBOW run thru the defense like that. Somebody should have knock the stuffings out of him. Lebeau's defense made Tebow look like an All Pro. This boy through for over 300 yards against Lebeau's defense. First 300 yard game in the NFL.

And last but not least, Tomlin did not let Suisham try a field goal with three seconds left in regulation with the altitude in Denver. He had been kicking the ball into the endzone the whole game. At least you try it.

At times this was true...but the D couldnt stop anything after the 1st qtr...be it bad play calling or players not stayin in position or whatever besides that fumble the D sucked.

 

The kick would have been risky...Suisham doesnt have the leg that a lot of kickers do...even in Denver. He would have kicked it lower and chanced being blocked and ran back for a TD...I'd rather take chances in OT than risk that.

 

How were those bronco WR so open, that's the problem.

 

I've been all for Lebeau and this 3-4 defense... until today. I know we were number 1 against the pass this year, but I feel like it's time for change to go with the new pass heavy offenses. When our offense is healthy, we can stay with the best of them. We need a defense that will get to the QB, make him fumble, or make him throw a pick. Turnovers looks like its what its all about these days on defense.

 

I concur the defensive scheming was terrible. Why would you cheat your players up to the line when a 4 to 6 yard run can't beat you? We don't give up pass plays of more than 20 yards throughout the season but give up 4 to 5 in one game? Get the Fu!ge outta here. Can't give Lebeau a pass. I kept waiting for our defense to make key stops and outside of the three and out at the end of the game we just couldn't. I guess I should have known better after all teams have been doing it to us all season. Yes Ike had a bad game but most of that D was spotty at best all season. I'm totally disgusted

Our defense has been baffling me for years. We are one of the best year in and year out, but we do not play well in the biggest games. Can anyone out there explain it to me because I have seen it too many times.

 

Yes the D didn't play too well today.I don't know if there were bad schemes or some miscommunications and all the injuries couldn't have helped.You do have to give their offense some credit they came into the game with a good plan and they executed when they needed to. Gameplanning and execution go hand in hand and i'm afraid once again offensively we were terrible in both aspects.

 

Defense and Lebeau found the worst time to be horrible. But this should not surprise anyone. We let Senaca Wallace, Kellen Clements, Painter, McCoy, all look like pro bowlers. How many games came down to the wire this year? We was a Gay interceptions twice from losing two other games.

 

Very well said. That is the disconnect with the whole thing. The defense seems to always be in the top 3 lately, yet they are so infuriating sometimes, especially in big games. I swear, they never feel like a top defense even though they get ranked as one. The only time in recent years I remember them really feeling like the top defense was in the 2008 Super Bowl year.

 

No pass rush all day long. Tebow had all day to throw, nobody getting any pressure, looked like they were standing in quick sand.
