Thank you for going 12-5 and getting us to the playoffs once again.

Thank you for helping Hines Ward achieve career milestones.

Thank you for toughing it out with injuries and still giving us competitive football.

I know it hurts to see the season end this way, but we'll be back to cheer, cuss, high-five, laugh and cry again next year.

On to the draft, OTAs and another dominant season in 2012!

STEELERS FAN IN GOOD TIMES AND BAD!

Yep. It was another memorable season. Our losses are gut-wrenching, but we're in there fighting and it's always memorable (though not always in a good way). Atlanta fans probably weren't as 'in' to their 24-2 drubbing for example. It's not all smiles and Lombardis, but being a Steelers fan is a unique experience that other teams' fans will never have.

I give props to the team for battling and tip my hat to the Broncos and their coaching staff for their game plan and in game adjustments. Best of luck, you are gonna need it.

Hey - we're Steelers fans - not Stains fans. We compete EVERY year - for 40 years! No one has that kind of consistency. This wasn't our year. It can't be every year and the cards were so stacked against us the last 4 weeks it's amazing they were competing for the division championship last week. Again - tough pill to swallow. I'm probably going to be scarce on here for a couple months while all of the "Fire (insert coach's name here)" Threads keep coming - and I'll be back around draft time. Feel free to contact me via email - mdbates41@att.net.

The last sentence is a great quote, as was the original post.
Too bad. A gutsy comeback wasted.

All things must pass, and so will this.

This was an exciting season that ended in a playoff loss. As has been stated many times in many threads, there are 20 other teams that would have happily traded places with us. I am proud to be a 40+ year Steelers fan and will continue to be one through thick and thin.

Thank you Pittsburgh Steelers! Here's to next year (with a new o-line please)! :herewego: :towel: :clapping:

I know the loss tonight stings alot but I like to stay positive and I look at it this way: We aside from Houston have had so many injuries this year I lost count and yet we stayed competitive to the bitter end. I also feel like changes here and there are going to be required to have us back to where we all want to be (in Pittsburgh it's all about the Lombardi's), but I will still wear my Pittsburgh gear and hold my head high. I admit I was in a state of disbelief when I watched the first play of overtime and I still am a little but time as they say heals all wounds. Now let's pick up the pieces, make a few changes here and there and get a boatload of our injured players healthy this offseason and we will be back next year stronger than this year's version. To this day I still can't figure out why when you are a Steelers fan a loss hurts so bad. I guess we are the only franchise that matters! Since we failed to win our division this year we likely will have a favorable schedule next season. Laugh it up Ravens fans but your day is coming too! I can't wait till we get to smash your ugly mugs in the dirt again! Once again thank you Steelers for another great season! Steeler man for life!

Ben sounded good in post-game. Gave credit to the whole team for playing through injuries. We'll see another danged good team in 2012. It's a long wait, but I'm looking forward to more success from this group.

Definitely have to say thanks for another great season really. We as fans of the Steelers are pretty spoiled with their success (not that I am complaining), and we hold the team to a high standard- but 12-4 was a pretty good year, especially considering all of the injuries.

Spoiled indeed. There are so many other teams that would LOVE to have our "problems".

There's nothing like being a proud citizen of Steeler Nation - NOTHING like it. They will overcome this letdown and give us lots of highlights next season and beyond.

Yes, I totally agree, to infinity and beyond! And with a new coaching staff and a bunch of new players, we will overcome this letdown by the time next season rolls around. Only a mere 8 months to go until we all start feeling better!! :swordsman:

I don't think it is spoiled and while 12-4 is a nice accomplishment that as you point out many would like, the lackluster performance during this season is not the type of effort we like to see from our team. I don't expect wins every time the team takes the field or Superbowls every year but I would like to see some improvement on the performance I witnessed this year.
