4 Super Bowls in 14yrs. The amazing thing to note that during those 14yrs, it's Brady and Belicheck. And I think they are the only ones that will be in the HOF. Steelers won 4 in 6yrs with 10 HOFs. 49ers won 4 in 10 yrs with 5/6 HOFs. As much as I hate the Patriots, Brady and Belicheck has had a remarkable run.
Another thing I've notice they've been consistent with their personnel is that you look at their offensive line over the years and notice that they are not high athletic draft picks, but big slow offensive linemen. Maybe their picking smart guys that can adapt to the patriots way of doing things. Steelers have many high draft picks, but it's taken them a long time to gel. I don't think Steelers OL are any where close to the Patriots OL in terms of consistency. The Pats also like the small/quick/touch as a rock kind of WRs starting with Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Amendelo. Very consistent at OL and WR.
Patriots have picked up several big name free agents or trade (Randy Moss, Darelle Revis, Corey Dillon, Junior Seau). I'm just impressed with how they've been able to keep this up for 14yrs.

We were pretty consistently good under Cowher though. I mean he was the winningest coach in the game during his time here. We just didn't have the good fortune of the championships.

Not for nothing, but we've been consistent for much longer.

Since 1992, the Cowher/Tomlin era has stretched 22 years and 14 of them have been 10 wins or better, resting at 231-136.

    Not too shabby.

Sorry if I don't feel like taking part in the love fest for NE thats littering the board today ;)

What else do we have to talk about? Pitchers and catchers isn't for another 2 or 3 weeks.

Well… free agency starts in a bit over a month, and then there's the Bill Nunn Draft Room… We have a team that finished the regular season strong, but failed in the playoffs. A team that has some pieces in place, but has some glaring gaps to fill. Plenty to talk about.

Meh, it was the same last year, when people wanted us to do what Seattle did.

The Pats won doing what they've always done. No surprises. And doing what they've always done hasn't always produced Superbowl victories (though this may be hard to remember over the next few weeks), and it hasn't always beaten the Steelers.

I like where we're heading as a team right now; fix the defensive issues, load up enough weapons to deal with our inconsistencies, and bring on next year.

    This.

If they run Lynch 3 or 4 times like the 7 billion people on the planet who are not the Hawks OC would have, the Cheats would be the modern day version of the 1990s Buffalo Bills since getting caught cheating (the first time).

So freaking aggravating. I thought for sure the game was Seattles once Kearse made that circus catch. And, I admit, would have taken much joy in the fact that the cheats would have been victimized twice by such bizarre uncanny catches in the SB leading them to defeats. Would have been glorious :lolol:

What a convenience the *s had to play in one of the consistently worst divisions in the league over that span. And to have a Commissioner in their back pocket. Need a scandal swept under the rug? Evidence destroyed? Rule changes to work in your favor? You got it!

Not to mention a CLEAR favoritism (edit: ok, I'll modify that to read: benefit of bad calls from the refs. I'm not going to accuse the refs of cheating... tempted, but I won't) from the refs last night. (I'm still fuming over the 1-2 punch of a BS Personal foul / blind to an obvious and in the clear open PI). Make no mistake: those two calls/ non-calls gave the *s new life and momentum. We won't talk about how they mugged the receivers down field all day long because Seattle's receivers sucked anyway. But they did. Or how bad the holding was.

And they still only won because of one of the worst play calls / execution I've ever seen.

I have so little respect or belief in anything the *s have ever done, that it wouldn't surprise me if I found out they poisoned Donovan McNabb and that's why he was puking all over the field.

What about the clear roughing the kicker they missed though? I say it was evenly and even sparsely called.

They were letting them play yesterday but you cant ignore that tripping penalty, they have to call that, that was a huge non call.

So how about moving this to the other teams' thread or the Patriots' Message Board fan forum?

Not trying to be a jerk... but the patriot nut riding on a Steelers site in a Steelers Forum seems out of place/off topic?

What's next... posts on how worried we all for Johnny Manziel's health?
