Does he need to ask? I figured that was a forgone conclusion.

    Lol, yeah, who doesn't?

I guess he doesn't like the fact that he would be #4 at best here.

Don't let the door hit ya. Or do. I really don't care. I have a feeling that him and Tomlin are not too close.

Feel bad for the guy he is another in a line of WR's that for whatever reason just didn't click with Ben. I think he is doing the right thing asking for his release and moving on. Wish him the best in where ever his path leads.

And this is why I don't like free agency and I rather build through the draft. They're not content on waiting their turn. Where are all of the Charlie Batch's of the world. And another thing...prove that you are better then the players in front of you.

That is a hard thing to prove when you're not on the field and when you are you aren't targeted. He could have been the second coming of Lynn Swan but if he doesn't have the ball thrown his way no one will ever know it

The road for DHB just got better . He is the perfect #4 or #5 WR. Never complains and cheers for Team mates and is not a half bad ST.

When the team acquired Moore, they didn't know they would have a good rookie like Bryant, and little depth behind Wheaton.

Moore was an insurance policy that the Steelers didn't need to use.
Good for the team, not so good for the player.

Agreed. He didn't suck, say like Cam Thomas did for the price. Just the 2 young guys came on strong.

will it cost us money? I like him. he did what we asked of him. heck cotch had those seasons early when he didn't play much. we still need backups. if he doesn't want to be here though, then let him go if it doesn't cost us. grab a couple of those two big dudes from Georgia Tech late. :smiley1::cool:

Exactly. I don't really get the bad feeling towards Moore. It's natural that he might want to ply his trade elsewhere, just like Cotchery did.

Waiting his turn? He will be 32 next season... His time is running out in the NFL. He was set to be the #3 WR at the beginning if the season, but injuries got him. By the time he was getting balls thrown his way, Bryant came in and tore it up. Wheaton had himself a pretty decent campaign for a young guy too.

If he wants to get any real playing time next year, this was the right move for him. Lucky for us, we don't need him. We are set at our starting WR positions, and were probably gonna cut ties with him anyways. Now he can get signed by someone who needs a good vet WR, and be in their camp to start the year.

Idk if we will draft a young guy later in the draft or sign a different vet WR, but it looks like DHB might be a keeper as a #4 or #5 and we will bring another guy in to compete with Justin Brown and the guys we kept on the PS last season for that last roster spot.

Yep, he was a good pick up but turns out we didnt need him.

JB's not on the team anymore, was surprised by that move but DHB wont have to contend with him.

Ah forgot about JB getting released. It would seem DHB would be a 53 man roster lock if re-signed. I guess another vet or a later round draft pick will definitely have a shot at the team. We definitely could use one more solid guy to bolster our depth with DHB.

Remember he got hurt in the beginning of the season. He should be fresh next year although he's 32 yes of age. The slot is his to lose...but if he can't wait then go somewhere else where he is happily used. We had better talent ahead of him that was drafted. If we had never picked up can then we would still have Mauro.

I don't know if there's a dead money hit when a player asks for release. If there is the Steelers are on the hook for a whopping 322k, but save 1.5 million.

Unless the Steelers decide to resign him DHB will be unemployed on 3/10.
