Jarvis Jones

Jarvis may can't get any bigger because of his back issue. But Von Miller is about his size and gets to the quarterback. He definitely needs to be stronger. They were throwing him around like a rag doll.

I still hope they draft another OLBs or two. I'm not sold on Jarvis Jones. I wasn't sold on him when we drafted him because when I watched his tape he did not beat a lot of tackles. He got most of his sacks working on TEs and Backs.

That being said, I hope he proves me wrong and becomes the next James Harrison/Gregg Lloyd but I don't see it.

His weekness coming out of the combine is the same that we have seen him play. Now I not sure he can bulk up but maybe he can get stronger. Next year should be the tell tell. My guess, he's not going to change much.

 

After reading his weakness'es I have no idea why we drafted him, Esp in the first round...... Of course i nvr liked this pick to start off with, so

Getting bigger and stronger doesn't matter if you can't stay on the field! And how can you measure him from 2013 to 2014?
Best stay on the field and contribute first and foremost. If not, this is a major set back for the OLB position since he is the ONLY one on the active roster as of today. Huge year for JJ

 

There's the potential for JJ to be our worst 1st round pick since Troy Edwards. We really can't afford that, especially so soon after the Ziggy Hood fiasco.

 

Wasn't a fan of this pick either. I wanted DeAndre Hopkins. Let's just hope he turns it on in a big way for next year. But I have confidence stenosis for this guy.

Would like to get Nate Orchard in the 2nd if possible.

Actually that tends to be the way it goes most of the time. If I like a pick, he sucks. If I hate the pick, he becomes an all time great.

So yeah, an idiot.

 

Been there too. I really wanted CB Kyle Wilson from Boise couple years ago.

 

I'm not buying that back issue crap, he's over that. Von Miller has that burst of speed to beat O-lineman and Jarvis doesn't.

 

I wanted Dennard last year. He didn't do anything this year. Kyle Fuller is the guy we might regret not picking. Too early to project regret on Shazier though.

I really wanted Fuller too last year, but I was in the CJ Mosley camp from day 1 last year. I hope Shazier plays next year like he did in that one preseason game. I hate losing to the ratbirds in any way.

 

Not to be piling on the Jones pick but a lot of Steeler fans in North Florida saw Jones play in the annual Georgia/Florida game. When you talk to them, the opinion is they were not impressed with what they saw in him. They also talked about his weakness and not being able to get off his blocks. Things haven't changed much since then.

 

My whole thing was that there was no one else I wanted at that spot. So it was either Jarvis, or trade down for me. I don't mind they went with him, but trading down probably would have been better, considering how stacked that second round was.

Oh I thought it was vice versa. You still think we'd have taken Shazier if Fuller had been there?

 

No^^^^ it was reported that gilbert ,beckem, and fuller was Steelers guys all along,, and none of them where there

 

so if fuller was available they would have draft him instead of shazier
