I guess Tomlin is conducting nationwide searches ... and it's just a coincidence that the best man for the job is someone with ties to the old Steelers guard ... over and over again.

It has long been suspected that Butler would be DL's successor. How could you possibly know if Tomlin is against the idea and doesn't want him?

You're taking one example, Arians, and turning it into the norm. Tomlin was ready to stay in house and promote Wilson to replace Arians, not a stretch to think he'd do the same on the DC side.

Even if Butler is the guy, some degree of change is assured. If they forced DL out, they're not going to simply replace him with someone who is going to do exactly the same thing.

He didn't actually. Wilson lost out when he was injured in a house fire.

Unless you are saying the Rooneys started the fire

Exactly. No matter how much you liked and learned from a boss/mentor, when its your turn, you do things your way.

The suggestion that Butler would just do the same thing as Lebeau is a little narrow minded.

No doubt. Younger doesn't equal better, but there's no way the two could do things exactly the same.

Yep, had a good recovery from what I remember.

He's actually up for an OC job now, I think he is in consideration for the Vikings job?

Well there you have it. Looks like it's Butler. It's the right decision given the loyalty Butler has shown to the organization. I'm looking forward to seeing what Butler can do and I trust that he'll bring some of his own ideas to the defense.

Probably not, it's not the Vikes, it's the Jags job he is a candidate for.

Yes it is, ATTACK get back to an exciting brand of defensive football. Watch those MT seats vanish.
