I think it is safe to say all of us got caught up in the excitement this season. So please lets stop the whining, the complaining, the belly aching. Take a day or two let those feelings you are having settle down, not saying that people can't start threads that vent their anger but just give it some time because there are lots of opinions flying around that are based on emotions believe me when I say I'm there too but I'm willing to wait till later tomorrow or Tuesday to start the dissection of what went wrong. Lets wait and see what the next month or two brings.

Relax, thorn. This is how some people heal, lol. I'm just happy we have a place to come to to express our frustrations and disappointments. Some of it's rational and some of it isn't, but people deal with disappointment in different ways. There is plenty to criticize and a few things to be encouraged over. Venting, whining, complaining and expressing our raw emotions will help all of us put this bad loss to the Ratturds behind us and move on. As one of the most loathed head coaches on this board might say, "we're on to 2015".

All for letting the healing start Jack but there is a lot of raw emotions causing some rather huge statements. Discussion is great, debate is great. I just think a day or two would allow for more rEason able discussion.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining around here. ;)

    This.

Honestly, it's been pretty tame for the 24 hours after a playoff loss, especially a first round loss to the Rats at home. I was expecting lots of blood.

I doubt it will stop Thorn. Honestly, I'm surprised it's not worse around here. With that said, a lot of the times when someone is ranting, it's kind of something they've been feeling all along and it just took something to bring it out.

Besides, this place would be boring if nobody ever made emotional posts

Dude Charlie Batch had a tirade after the game. They just got done with interviews with players after the game. A lot of them said they were proud of how they turned the season around and made the playoffs. Charlie was irked that players were actually proud of being booted from the playoffs in the first round. Bottom line, if you lower your standards you have to live with the results.

I'm definitely taking a breather. I have a lot of harsh thoughts for various members of the organization - GM, coaches, certain players... even ownership. I didn't expect to win the SB this year, but the way we went out was so reminiscent of some of the Jekyll and Hyde performances this year (the Hyde ones), that it just killed me to watch it. It was absolutely pathetic starting from the "OMG, you mean we need a real backup RB???" unpreparedness in the front office to the absurdly Archer-centric game planning, and then the same old 3 man rush and 10+ yard cushions on 3rd and long.... I could just go on and on. I need to take a breather, because while there is a ton of bad mojo with this team right now, there was also some good mojo, and some good future potential. So, I'm not yet sure what I think needs to be done to tweak things in the right direction without blowing up the whole thing (which I don't want to do).

Good for Charlie! He's absolutely right!!! We just got ripped at home by our most hated rival. That's not the time to reflect on how great we were in turning the season around!

I was going off so bad last night that my wife told me it was hard for her to believe I'm actually a fan. She was like "you didn't cheer for them the whole game!" I said "they didn't give me something to cheer FOR!" LOL!

Similar experience with my wife last night. She kept telling me to think positive thoughts, and I was like "are you serious? How?"

So do you remember at what point in the game that you gave up hope? I had a bad feeling from early on but I didn't fully give up hope until the Archer TD was called back for holding.

Archer TD called back on that hold that Harrison gets every snap killed it for me. Especially when you see it was after Ben had released the ball and was going down.

That Archer TD was killer, but what really got me was how Ben was rushed back in and immediately threw a pick. They pretty much fluffed over the concussion protocol to get him back in there. At the current time Gradkowsi was having some decent flow, he def could of got us a TD there.

Also it seems they rushed Miller back into the game also, and then he fumbled. Poor coaching decisions imo

When Mitchell got flagged and when Archer started seeing the field. Then Worilds threw a punch which just infuriated me even more. Then we give up a 3rd and 14 WHILE PLAYING OUR CORNERS ABOUT 19YDS FROM SCRIMMAGE and my top just blew. THEN to top that off the stupid rats started just launching up bombs with no intent to try and catch them but just draw a flag and I despise that type of tactic so it just fueled the fire even more. Then I started just letting our players have it and ESPECIALLY Mitchell and kept pointing him out to my wife and telling her how useless he is and she said "do you give them this hard of a time when you're AT the game?!" and I said "YES!" My wife was captain of the cheerleading team at our school and she just has the mentality that you always should have "team spirit" or whatever but to me team spirit is loving the STEELERS as a franchise so much that you get mad at the individual player because of how they are making the franchise look. When we got to church today people knew I was gonna be really down about the game and were asking about it and she said "I've never seen him so mad! It was like he didn't even LIKE the Steelers he was hollering so bad and our son is named after Big Ben!" It's hard for some to grasp that you can love something so passionately that you just let it make you so irritated. When Ben and Gilbert went down I was so mad at them that I just said "Just CRAWL to the locker room and stop embarrassing us!!!" Now do I REALLY feel that way? Of course not. But in the moment you just will really let them have it because you feel as though they let "you" down. The passion causes you to get the illusion they're "playing for YOU" and that's not really the case. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if most of us had a harder time calming down than most of the players did last night. They are just hired hands looking for the highest bidder. WE are STEELERS fans! There's a HUGE difference whether people realize it or not! But here I still am and the day the schedule comes out I will be looking at what game I'm gonna drop mega dollars on to go and just spend a little time with "my team" ya know? It's just part of the deal.

I can pinpoint the moment I knew that the offense was in for a bad night. Opening drive. They had some early success with Tate getting some positive yardage and short passing game making the Ravens think and then Tate fumbles. Now the fumble didn't hurt anything other than TOmlin/Haley/ Ben lost confidence in him and I think that changed their approach. The game became purely on Ben's shoulders and the Ravens defense had succeeded in making them one dimensional, they could sit back and blitz because they had no fear of the run. On defense the giving up the middle uncontested and falling for the stretch play time and time again hurt. Just because the opposing teams oline is slanting one way doesn't mean the defense has to follow with the LB's flowing the same way.

I felt like the Tate fumble made a psychological impact on the team as well. We know Tomlin is hardcore about that crap and also Tate blew a pass protection and dropped a checkdown. There were just little things that led to his limited touches and I'm sure the rats took notice of it.

All I know is when I played my lottery numbers today the girl said, hey your shirt is on backwards and my boyfriend is a stiller fan too. The other girl said, he dresses line when they pi ss him off and lose
All is not lost though. I hit the NC lottery Daley number for $290
Still pi ssed off at the team but I'll be ok by July. Wonder if TH will go to the family reunion. May make a trip for that and it would be to shake his hand

I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't seen one "emotional" opinion expressed after this loss that hasn't been expressed all season long ... and in most cases for multiple seasons.

Some fans think Ben is overrated/not elite/washed up ... there's nothing new there. That's been the case for years.

Some of us think that Mike Tomlin could be replaced by a scarecrow with no discernible effect on the team's performance. That's not a new realization. We've believed that for quite some time.

Some fans believe that Troy is a shell of his former self and actually hurts our performance when he plays. There's nothing new there.

Some fans believe the game has passed Dick LeBeau by and he needs to get shoved out the door if he won't leave on his own. Again, nothing new there.

Honestly I can't see what it is that you are objecting to. This is any week on this or any other Steelers fan board.

Really Heath is a fumble machine, having Troy on the field ruined the chemistry of the secondary, the refs screwed them, the hairball bros shouldn't have been allowed on the field at the same time. Those don't seem emotional
