I don't often make predictions but Troy always shows up big against the ravens so I will say he makes a huge play in this game.

Not sure how I feel about that. I love Troy and all he's done for us over the years. However, I believe a large part of our early struggles(particularly Mitchell) were do in large part to his freelancing and declining skillset.

Here's our great coach at it again, the secondary was just getting used to each other, and now Tomlin is going to mix it up again. Keep up the great work coach  There's even a thread on here with Mitchell talking about how things are just starting to get together without Troy.

If it's a sloppy field then Troy will be very ineffective. I think he should see playing time but I don't believe starting him is a great idea.

IMO Troy has EARNED the start! I know Jack 5958 won't be happy though!

I want to see Troy get a pick six playing center field, as Sloppy Joe rushes the throw because 92 is coming!

I have been back and forth on whether it should be Troy or Allen . After considering the Rats offense and what they are going to try and do . I decided that Troy should be the best fit for this game in this weather .

Troy plays good in the box and he should be an asset in stopping the Rats running game .

I'm torn. I'll always love Troy as an all time great, but I agree with the sentiments that the defense as a whole has been better without him. It doesn't mean that Allen is a better player (far from it), but it seems like having Allen play in a more "standard" role has helped the rest of the secondary. I think I'd go ahead and start Troy, but play Allen for > 50% of snaps, especially in situations where we anticipate passing.

I am happy to hear that.
Most of yinz have heard my stance on it so I won't get into it.

    and your right, Jack won't be happy until Troy comes up with something huge;

and you know who else isn't happy hearing Troy will start??? Flacco!

Hard to sit a healthy TP, even with the lost steps (Allen and TP are the same speed) but the coaches know what to do, and I'm betting he splits time with Allen tonight. Also, TP plays the Ravens well, so I'm hoping he can fight off "Father Time " one more time and make something great happen. Kinda like the movie " For Love of the Game"

Maybe the time off got him healthy again. Maybe the rotate him will Allen a little bit, keep them both fresh. The crowd will roar when #43 comes out of the tunnel tonight.

:this!: I feel the same should be 50% each, with Allen on mostly passing plays and Troy on running plays.

I do not like this move and sure hope this decision doesn't cost them the game.

If it was indeed his health that was causing his sub par performance and he is completely healthy and at 100% then I agree. If he is starting because of his name then ,no. I do agree though that his experience against the rats is a big factor, again if healthy.

Troy will mess with flaggo's mind just being on the field... Flaggo will check to see where Troy is every play

Troy has scarred him for life

I have no issue with who starts who doesnt. But I DO think him and Allen should share some duties, depending on the situation going on in the game.

Definitely. Heck, we might even see a couple big nickel looks with Troy up front.

Well, this impacts everything that's key in the game.

I'm guessing B.W. Webb gets sat down from Special Teams as well, with someone else filling his spot against Jacoby Jones.......

If Troy's in the box then there goes the secondary having no over the top coverage and opening up the long PI play the Ravens like to run. Also, there's bound to be some confusion as to who runs with whom in the secondary....

That makes two of us then because I don't think he is the best player for this position and based on his one passed defended this year he should not play.

Yeah, seems like the Ravens have had this figured out, since Troy's pick 6 in 2009. Hope he just stays back and they play their bend don't break defense and not give up e big play/PI.

This. Were a better offensive team. If we can limit their points, we will win the game. Getting beat deep constantly though won't accomplish that
