Having said all that he was still the best CB WE'VE had in recent years. That might not be saying much but I think you'd be hard pressed to name any other CB we've had during Taylor's time here that played better than he did. I never said he was a Revis caliber player ;)

Ok, but you're making it relative to anyone else on OUR team that played? Sure, he was the best WE had during his tenure. But that doesn't make him good - especially not now.

Same could have been said about Chad Scott relative to OUR talent. Still doesn't mean he was good... which he wasn't.

Don't mean to hijack but I think Troy ,if healthy may have a couple of big plays left in him. As long as we know where he is going to be on the field and not freelancing and guessing Mitchell should be able to cover for him. I think it's a big reason why Mitchell has struggled so much. Getting used to playing next to Troy and his style of play takes some time, ask Ryan Clark. To me it looks like he put on some unnecessary weight that has really affected his burst, hopefully he had the flu and lost about 20lbs. C'mon Troy give us one last run....

Blake actually stopped AJ when Ike went out. I think McCain is actually better than both

Edit: Bet Ike and Troy are both listed as questionable and do not play. If Tomlin is finally getting some nads and telling them they are done, I may have to rethink my opinion of him. Jury is still out right now

When Ike signed his first extention we were all worried about losing him. Ike said he would remain a Steeler and he did.
Two things are certain in life
    1. You get older every day and one day, you lost a few steps. Ike got older, Troy too
    2. You die. No one gets out alive
    That's just a fact

To thesteeldoor. Thing is, Troy's not healthy. I saw him in a few games trying to catch up to a guy who smoked him to catch a long one. AJ was one. He ran by Ike and Troy

    I think that's charitable.

I don't disagree that it takes time to get used to what Troy's doing, especially when he has maybe lost a step.

But Mitchell's weaknesses go way, way beyond that. Some of his mistakes remind me a little of Anthony Smith. Bites on plays, misses tackles, tackles late, bad fundamentals. I'm not saying he can't improve, and it will certainly help if the rest of the secondary are on the same page.

I agree with those who say we shouldn't criticize Ike and Troy for getting older and slower. That's the organization's fault for holding on to them too long. They take up too much cap space for their level of play. That's not their fault. Can't blame them for taking the money if the Steelers are willing to pay it.

Can't argue with that! Woodley was a fat turd. Ike and Troy are professionals. They are giving it 100%. I personally think that the Steelers hold onto players too long and it costs them big time on the salary cap but that's not the players fault.

My Steeler friends, if our Steeler management team doesn't target 2 cb's and a safety in the draft or thru FA I will be disappointed.

That should've been the plan for the 2014 draft.
