I'm glad McCain had a good game, but you can tell AJ Green wasn't at 100%. He dropped a lot balls and wasn't himself. That being said I'm all for McCain starting over Taylor.

I like this guy. I wasn't sure why, for the second half, they took away the safety help on Green.

Green was having a bad day. So was Dalton (but what else is new with him?).

But I'll take McCain over Ike going forward. Not the best solution, but much better than Ike.

Keep Ike Taylor off the field by any means necessary...

I really hope they sign McCain in the offseason..draft another CB, and these DBs should be better then what we had over the past couple of years

:this!: Besides his coverage ability I think McCain has better receiving hands as well. Ike's been a great player for us but how many should-be interceptions have we seen sail through those hands of his

How you all have talked Ike up for the years he has been here amazes me, he never was a top 20 CB, he couldn't pick his nose let alone pick a ball, he is the most over rated corner to ever start in the NFL let alone for this team: He's never made a pro bowl because he is such a mediocre player that no body in their right mind would ever vote him into a pro bowl, the millions he made here stinking up the secondary should be listed as grand theft NFL.....

    From the Top Rope!

Ike had a few solid years early on. He played within the system. Once he lost a step he should have been replaced. Early days he could run with the #1 receiver but nothing to proclaim him to the Pro Bowl level. Watching the Tebow floaters that he couldn't locate made me sick. After that game it was over. Now this year he gets injured, comes back and gets his butt handed to him by AJ Green. Then gets pulled due to getting fried, I mean a knee? Shoulder? Arm? Bruised ego?! DING DING DING. I believe he won't see the field unless there is an injury. Or, possibly as jimmyallen45 said, put him on IR to sign Ben Tate, which the signing I believe will happen.

Taylor and Troy's better days are behind them, that's easy to see.
They are both the definition of a true Steeler!

It's sickening listening to the way some of you blast them non-stop.

Have some respect and show some friggin class!

Ike was pretty damn good... Never a ball hawk but did his job! Troy was just a phenom... Nobody else like him. That said, they seem to be okay with letting the kids play. Taylor said he understands and is proud to just watch the boys be hungry and get the job done. They know their time is over and they aren't crying about it.

That said, the secondary has picked up their game and while it's not breath taking play by any means, they are getting the job done. If the O consistently lives up to their capability, this D can do just enough and maybe even more to go get 7!

There's no denying the team is better off with Troy and Ike on the sidelines, they make too many costly mistakes.

I'm not arguing that. Just don't understand the constant beat down these guys take.

I know it's a "what have you done for me lately" league, but there seems to be a growing line for kicking these two while they are going down.

Yeah and there's no need for it. Coaches are smart and will put the best players available on the field. If Troy and Ike are out there it's because the are the best option.

I really feel Troy and Ike need to sit, I'd be worried if either play.

I like the way McCain is playing. The two plays Sunday night that showed me that the guy's a baller was when he absolutely blew Giovani Bernard up just before he reached the sidelines and the way he manhandled AJ Green, stripped the ball and recovered the fumble at a crucial point in the game. THAT WAS STEELER FOOTBALL, BOYS!!!

And, Glenn, I've got a question for you. Do you consider any criticism of Ike and Troy a sign of disrespect? I respect the heck out of both of those guys and appreciate what they've done for the Steelers. I just think the defense is playing much better AS A UNIT now with both of those guys on the bench. It doesn't make me happy to say that, but that's the reality.

It just seems that you can't criticize anybody around here without somebody thinking you're being disrespectful. That's just wrongheaded thinking.

I don't think you can even lump the 2 into the same conversation.

    Troy is not washed up..

Ike has been for a while..

Troy is slower but he makes up for it, he has a field presence that shuts down entire areas of opportunity.

Ike, on the other hand, gives our opponents, fields of opportunity.

Please stop mentioning them in the same posts...

its starting to remind me of Kiesel posts when he got hurt.. The responses made it look like he died!

I don't think we've seen the last of Troy this year, should the team make a deep playoff run. Can he humble himself, to not play like the 2010 Troy, but play center field where the rest of the secondary needs him?

I'm sorry, dino, but I disagree. I think Troy is a big reason (not the only reason) the Steelers have been giving up huge plays at an historic clip the last couple of seasons. I love Troy, but his time has come. I'm happy for him to prove me wrong with another iconic Troy game changer, but my fear is that he'll be exploited for a big play that will knock us out of the tournament.

    Than Taylor or McCain?

I've said it before, but the fact that McCain can catch a ball already makes him an upgrade on every CB we've had since Deshea Townsend.
