I'm worried about this game because of their running game. We talk about TOP and keeping the defense off the field but they have the ability to do that to us and Reid isn't stupid, he knows that the strength of the Steelers is the offense. I'm thinking if we fall behind and become one dimensional it could turn into a real long day. Does anyone else have the same or similar concerns?

Charles isnt that much of a threat this year, he only had 950 yards after 13 games and only had one 100 yard game, the defense needs to key on him to hold him down, other teams have done that and we need to as well....

Not worried at all. The Steelers have had some really good tests this year and passed on stopping the running game. If they shut the running game down it makes KC one dimensional and because they have not had a great passing game this year with the exception of their tight end I see the Steelers winning 27-24

Vince Williams and Sean Spence need to key in on Charles

Edit: Oh yeah and we can loose no more games :)

He had 8 games where he had less than 5 per carry, he had games where he had 4 yards per carry and a few games where had 2 and 3 yards per carry, the key is to get a big enough lead to force them to throw the ball playing catch up......

That only thing that worried me is their redzone defense vs our redzone offense.

What worries me anymore, is which Steelers team will show up. I really hope we are past that now... Especially since some of the players said now that it's December they will play harder.

Our defense has to play lights out top to bottom today. Reid preys on team weakness and strengths. He will have his team well coached. How well did Tomlin do this week...will find out!!!

Well, they lost to Denver twice, and the raiders once so hopefully we looked at that film to get a feel for how to beat them, looking at their schedule it appears you never know what KC team is going to show up, but one thing is for sure we need to get them out of their comfort zone in this game.....I'm sure Andy Reid is worried about how to stop the 3 Bs, Ben, Brown and Bell, so he has 3 problems on his hands while we only have two to worry about.....

The Chiefs are the good version of the Jets, so that means even a decent game by the Steelers may not cut it. The Steelers could lose this 24-17 or 23-20 and not really play that bad. Let's face it the Steelers have been helter skelter all season and even in many of their wins. Other than the Carolina game and to some extent Indy (though the defense kind of stunk) they haven't put together a complete 4 quarters or full team effort to win a game. Scary things about the Chiefs.

    1. Dangerous special teams - PGH has been okay so far in stopping returns, hope they can keep that up 2. Outstanding pass rush that they can do without blitzing - the Jets did this to the Steelers, Ben has killed the blitz this year, but teams that can get a pass rush without blitzing have confused Ben and the line. 3. KC is stingy in the red zone and don't give up a lot of big plays. 4. They run the ball well and can run the stretch zone which has killed the Steelers early in the season.

Things not so scary about the Chiefs:

    1. .They give up a lot of yards between the 20's - the Steelers hold the ball well too so maybe we can play ball possession too. 2. They are not a big play team - but of course the Steelers give up a lot of big plays.

The Chiefs will probably do everything to stop Bell which means I think this game squarely falls on Ben and the receivers and the line holding up. To me this is a game where the offense has to be very efficient and probably beat the Chiefs at their own game. A pedestrian game of sub 90 qb rating for Ben isn't going to cut it, it is probably going to take a super star effort from him and that will be no easy task.

The one thing you mentioned is what scares me, and it is a good pass rush without blitzing, that is what the Steelers offense can't seem to beat. Every QB struggles when they don't get much time but what happens when you rush 4 and apply pressure is it takes away the run game, and the short passing game because Lbers now can cover the RB out of the backfield and the TE on any type of screen play. I think we win if the o-line can hold up most of the game, we saw how Ben plays if he is hassled right from the 1st drop back, he begins looking for the rush instead of receivers and we don't do well. We also need to defense to keep them under 30 points, which is tough for this unit and I don't count Alex Smith out as our defense has made has beens and never beens look like pro bowl caliber QBs. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and a bottle of Pepto Bismol close by.

Yeah, pretty hard not to be concerned with a team that has wins over Seattle and New England. But they seem to have slowed down a bit and come down to earth the past month even losing to Oakland. Winning this game would be very significant for the Steelers.

btw ff: I kind of liked that #2seed scenario in the other thread. LOL

The things you can do with those calculators.:smiley1:

I'm a little worried but I think the Steelers will play one of their best games overall of the season. I hope so.

Yes, I am worried. They've been talking about KC having no TD receptions from their WR corps all week on every network so they will probably get a couple today.

The 3 best teams the Steelers faced this year they averaged like 45 points, I expect a good game from them, this team gets up for these games.

Im worried about ANY team the Steelers play. They're too inconsistent and haven't earned my trust yet.

I was (really) but I'm not now. Good Defense, played well today against the Steelers but offense is too error prone.

Slowly earning my trust. Getting on a roll. Defense starting to get solid. Offense starting to hold up their end of the bargain...consistently. A solid win next week and Im sold. If not then the Kansas City win means nothing.
