I think with Troy's days in Pittsburgh coming to an end, we should mover Ryan to safety. Wasn't he one of the fastest players coming out of the draft. With his size and speed wouldn't he be better suited at safety? Just a thought.

No, already have to draft a LB next year, don't need to add another one. Besides, not easy changing positions.

You thinking they try to replace Worilds in the draft?

I believe Shazier entered OSU as a Safety, but Id prefer to leave him at ILB.

I think the bigger question is, do we move Timmons to OLB? This would allow Shazier to start with a Spence/Williams combo on the inside.

Funny, when they drafted him I said he looked more like a safety than an ILB...

They tried that a couple years ago when Harrison was out with near disastrous results.

As a huge Buckeye fan, I know Shazier played Weak side OLB in the 4-3 his whole college career. He only looked like a safety since he weighed 215 as a freshman. He's up to 237 now and will surely play inside for us. Not big enough for OLB in a 3-4 and hasn't played safety. I'm not worried about Ryan. If he gets healthy and another off season under his belt, he will be a player.

And we already tried Timmons at OLB, and it worked out horribly. We're gonna draft a pass rusher pretty highly next draft (maybe even with our first pick) and he's probbaly gonna start or split time with moats. JJ, Shazier, Timmons, rookie will be our LB corps in 2015.

Worllds is gone, move Shazier to the outside, bring Troy down as an ILB, almost run a hybrid 3-3-5. With today's pass happy league may work if Tuitt and McCullers step up. Draft/ bring in a solid cover 2 safety.

He's where he needs to be- at ILB, but FWIW, Lake thought he could play Safety after the draft.

"There is no reason why he couldn't play safety," said Lake. "This guy is big and fast and aggressive. If for some reason Keith Butler doesn't like him, I'll take him."

Yes, PLEASE....continue to draft LB's while ignoring the single-most important position in the 3-4........DT

A really good ILB can be a game changer. I believe Shazier has potential. Moving him away from ILB would be a waste of talent.

That is a horrendous idea. Shazier would get swallowed up by offensive tackles not name mike adams. The only thing Troy needs to do after this season is retire.

We've been over this. HoJo should earn a spot once the overpaid Worilds is gone. I think between him Moats and JJ, they've got the OLB spots covered with a rotation and they'll draft a guy to add in.
