I expect this from Ben but hopefully the rest of the front office realizes that BA is the one holding this team back. FIRE BA....and the SKY WILL BE THE LIMIT!

"We’ve got something special here, We’ve got a lot of great young players. As long as they don’t get crazy and change the offense — that can really set you back — the sky is the limit for this team.”

Youre my boy Big Ben but we've been hearing "the skies the limit" for years now. it's put- up or shut -up time ,this plane has been grounded for too long.

I'm so sick and tired of Ben. The sky has been the limit for this team for 5 years now and every season it's the same thing, a horribly inconsistent offence. At what point do you admit that it's not working and make changes?

I know most on this site love Ben and think he's elite, but I don't and I would love to see him and BA shipped out of town, although I would want the team to address the QB issue first. Ben isn't awful, he's actually pretty good, but I'm sick of his arrogance and his refusal to adjust.

looking at other games where there is an elite qb :brees rodgers brady manning and maybe i can say stafford , i notice that all these offense are running miles away above of our , so of the two one : or ben is not that good or our oc is bad . i would start to fire arians and hire a real oc , than i will have a more clear idea

Well the good news is at least he is acknowledging they have been underachieving and the fact that there are possible whispers of BAs demise brings a smile to my face. :-D

What's sad is we have seen glimpses here and there of what this offense can do when it is balanced and game planned for the opposing defense, but too many times it turns into an air show. That works with the right offensive line but we just don't have that line.

I think the word 'warn' in the title is a bit much. Unless improvements are made on the O line I'm not sure a new coordinator would get much more out of the offense. True, Brees and Rogers put up spectacular numbers but part of the difference is that they usually have ample time to throw.

There was some speculation a few years ago the year Brees was drafted that the Steelers had their eyes on him and would consider taking him at the end of the first round. Can't complain much about the guy we drafted in the first round that year (2001), though. One Mr. Casey Hampton.

A new coordinator would make improvements in the O line. BA must go. If Ben don't like it then he can go too.

This is such a bogus arguement. This Oline is not a top Oline, but they are not nearly as bad as people on this board claim. They are typically not a huge probem. Those other qBs and systems get the ball out fast, snap the ball quickly and catch defenses off-guard. We have seen our line give 6-8 seconds at times. Yes we need a couple of upgrades on the line, but I think we may b1 good gaurd away from a really good line.

A really good OC would be able to get much more out of this offense. But it would take coral-ing Ben a little too. People claim the numbers are about the same as they were with Wiz. Problem is the game has evolved, rules continue to change to benefit the offense and yet we have the same weak point production, and in today's NFL that is not cutting it. Overall scoring is up around the league, but our offense is stagnating. We keep hearing how great and explosive the O will be and how the sky is the limit. And yes, the talent is there to be that way, but we need a leader to pull it all together.

i don't think ben really has the skill sets to do what rodgers, brees, brady, and stafford do.

he flourishes when he's out of the pocket, improvising, and making plays.

i don't know that you can really bring in an OC to ask ben to make quick, accurate throws. ben is a sandlot qb. and, under arians, we've been to the super bowl twice in four years and, in his fifth year, we're 12-4. i'd cast a vote for consistency rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. i'd always vote, of course, for improvement over consistency, but it's hard to improve on making it to the super bowl 50% of the time.

Here is a total list of the stellar offenses that we score more points than...

Seattle, Arizona, Denver, Washington, TB, Indy, Jax, Cleveland, KC, & St. Louis.

That is a pretty underwhelming list. Those are the only teams in the league that scored less than we did this year.

So as long as we don't change the offense, this is the company we can expect to be in year in and year out.

Hey let's get rid of Ben right now, before the Denver game... The scrub only led this team to 2 Super Bowl trophys and almost a 3rd one last season.

Yep, lets get rid of Ben and hear the crying after the franchise is set back for years to come.

    Maybe Kordell is available :roflmao:

Led us to two superbowl wins? If not for the defence, we don't get to either SB and we definitely don't win any either. In 2008 when we won that superbowl, Ben had a terrible season. How many low scoring games did we win because of our defence? In 05 he had the worst QB rating of any SB winning QB ever. Last year, he played poorly against GB. Like I said, give Ben a bad defence like GB or NE have and we don't come close to making the playoffs.

One thing some people dont realize is they will not have to fire Arians...once the season is over he is no longer under contract. As far as what Ben said...i dont think bringing in a new OC would mean a complete system overhaul. Just refining whats there...better game planning and play calling.

Exactly. We aren't going to go back to a power running team, just isn't going to happen. I think what Ben likes about Arians is BA lets him do whatever the hell he wants. Arians thinks Ben is a 1st ballet hall of famer already and seems to think Ben shouldn't change a thing. That's the biggest reason BA needs to go, he refuses to admit that Ben could be better if they approached things differently.

:this!: I have been avoiding this thread, but someone finally said something that makes sense. I think Ben is just worried that a new OC may put some reins on his 'creativity'. It doesn't have to (and probably won't) be that way. But shaner and gp are right; Ben can get better. Now, don't mistake me for a FBAI guy. Just a guy who wants to see the O get better. Things can always be better, right? :hehehe:

using the '08 super bowl was a pretty interesting example. our offense won that game after our defense blew it.

Its not Arians job to coach or improve the O line.

Yes, things can always be better.

As far as all this goes, I'm looking at Ben's quotes from a different angle.

Ben is a protector. He always sticks up for an area of the team facing a lot of derision. He did it for the o-line often. Now he's doing it for Arians too. Whether he's right or wrong isn't the point. I like that quality about him.

The sky is the limit when it comes to talent (Ben, Mendy, Redman, Dwyer, Batch, Heath, Saunders, Wallace, Brown, Sanders, Cotchery, Ward... I just started drooling a little).

So why do we underproduce? We have the best skill set in the league if you ask me, with the possible exception of Green Bay. Our offense is literally not coordinated well enough. Let's see if we can put two and two together...
