Flat or nervous a bunch of nonsense and excuses, they just aren't very good.

Thanks for the discussion. Maybe "nervous" or "flat" aren't accurate, and maybe "unprepared" is part of it. But unprepared can't quite be right, as I assume they do something in practice all week. Perhaps "wrongly prepared" is the best description, as the game plans are often puzzling for the opponent we are facing. Or maybe "underprepared"? I can't believe the players like what is going on, and I wonder if it is a player preference/scheme matchup frustration. Ben often look frustrated, and I wonder if he is frustrated at his teammates, himself, or the plays that are called. I can imagine Ben's internal dialog of "Seriously? Another bubble screen?" Or on defense, "lined up 10 yards off the receiver again and no blitzing - I am tired of chasing this guy all over the field."

Tough to figure out what ain't right, and sumthin' ain't right. They should be better, at least on offense.

Yup, he does. Not that it has anything to do with winning and losing, there have been successful coaches who have been reserved on the sidelines.

:this!: Tom Landry and Tony Dungy were reserved coaches.

And Noll was often described as stoic. But I've seen him get in Bradshaw's face and others' faces when need be. He was kind of like the dad that just had to give you "the look" to make you straighten up. I look at Tomlin as almost being a fan on the sidelines. He loves to cheerlead and chest bump and all that stuff. I guess that's just his style but when it appears that he's getting out-maneuvered by the guy on the other sidelines when it comes to pre-game preparation, strategy, in-game adjustments, clock management, etc., just plain out-coached, it's somewhat off-putting at times.

The Team in totality doesn't seem very good. We have a few great moments and then it's back to the deer in the headlight looks. We have an extremely capable of being explosive O... But it lacks consistency. Our D is pretty bad, but doesn't seem to be very well coached at this point. I believe the message coming from the coaches might be there, but the results are pretty willy nilly. I believe the prep is being put in as well with the same results. So with that said, if we have a good message being spit and work being put in... Then it has to be the scheme. And we've all said it off and on for awhile now.

I dont think this staff puts the best personnel in the best position to play the best ball. And that is obvious with given scenarios. If Ben is off or hurt, get his ass off of the field. If folks ain't running the right route, get them off the field. If giving your man a 10+ yard cushion isn't getting the job done then you press. If your safeties are being burned down the field, then quit playing them up near the box! If you're still getting shredded in the passing game with all of your LBs in coverage, knock it off and turn them loose on the QB. Maybe it don't get you a win, but atleast it shows that there are some functioning brains on the sidelines willing to TRY SOMETHING ELSE instead of repeating the same old B.S.

It all starts at the top Mac, what you said is what should happen. Why doesn't it?
