Drew Brees is #2 in pass attempts and is completing 70.3% of his passes.

Yeah - I do see your point. I know what you mean. Ben used to have that moxie or "it" factor where you knew having him in your back pocket was like having a mulligan...i.e. something might go wrong, but Ben can still pull it out. I still don't see Flacco in the same vain. One thing I will say for Flacco is he throws a really really good bomb - he has an absolute cannon for an arm.

Also believe it or not if you look at this year and the previous two years where the Steelers have been average Ben actually has only one less GW drive in the 4th quarter or overtime compared to Flacco. Flacco has 9, Ben 8.

But I know what you mean, that magic that Ben had doesn't seem to be there anymore.

I think the "Ben", "Flacco", "Brady", etc. comparisons are way overblown. This is a team game, and while the QB is an integral part, the surrounding pieces, coaches included, cannot be ignored. I'd much rather see a "Steelers", "Ravens", "Patriots" comparison any day rather than talking about QBs all the time.

    Aren't the Ravens 7-5?
    Weren't they 8-8 last year?

So, I looked up Ben's stats since 2008 versus Flacco, comparing regular season wins and losses.

    Ben (since 2008):
    63 - 36 - .636364%

    Joe:
    70 - 40 - .636364%

I guess I could buy the argument that Joe Flacco appears to stink up the joint for 3 1/2 quarters, than turn it on at the end, until we consider this:

4th Quarter comebacks and game winning drives:

    Ben (since 2008):
    22

    Joe:
    20

But hey, any of you who seem to just love Flacco's jock...keep hanging on it. I'm glad we have Ben.

You know it, I wonder where to find the stats on how many they've called for him. Probably like
    Ben - 17
    Joe - 122

Where were all the Ben haters when he lit up the Colts and Ravens with back to back 6 td games? They only seem to light up this board as soon as Ben has a bad game. Stop embarrassing yourselves please.

Put Flacco behind the moron line that we have and tell me how good he is. Ben has been good in SPITE of his teammates for most of his career. At least under Tomlin. The ONLY linemen to make a pro bowl under Tomlin is Pouncey. Flacco is surrounded by a good line. I was reading earlier that he might have at least two of his linemen go to the Pro Bowl THIS year. We've not had two linemen go to the Pro Bowl in EIGHT years. Look at Brady earlier this year. There were people honestly stupid enough to think that maybe he was done. Then Bill fixes the line and Brady is a beast again. It takes more than just a "big arm" and whatever else to play qb in this league. It takes a line in front of you blocking. Ben has never really had that. I don't see how anyone could disagree with what I just said. Yes Ben SOMEtimes holds the ball too long but NOT as much as people think. He actually can get rid of it quite quick. People say "well he can't work a timing route very good". Ok, well Manning can't throw on the run very good. I guess he must not be "elite" either. EVERY player has a shortcoming to their game. People act like Brady and Manning are supermen and Ben is just some scrub. It is completely asinine to think that just because Ben might not be as good in SOME areas that he is BAD in all areas. Anyone that thinks Ben is not a good qb is not a serious football fan. They are just a hater that is blinded by their hate. Period.

I'm not a Ben hater, but for the record, I was right here praising Ben and the rest of the team and was talking about how I felt we were a serious playoff contender. I thought we had turned a corner. That apparently hasn't happened after all. I call it like I see it. If Ben has a good game, I'll say so. If he has a bad game, I'll say so. Stats to me are almost meaningless. How he plays throughout the game and how many points he is responsible for putting on the scoreboard are the only things I care about. If he puts up 400 yards but only 10 points, that's a bad game. It's especially bad when you consider all the help he's been getting in the running game. Lack of TD's is just unacceptable with the talent we have on offence.

And that`s the bottom line... "`Cause Stone Cold Said So!!!"....

Give me all the reasons you want...

It`s a "team game", from the players to the coaches...

But, the bottom line is, we ain`t getting into the endzone on a consistent basis, at least from inside the opponents` 20 yard line...

    for a LONG time...

And that`s why we lose... To the Saints, or the Buc`s, or the Clowns, or, whoever...

7`s win games... 3`s lose them... PERIOD.

Plenty of blame to go around... How about, we just FIX IT!!!:frustrated::mad::herewego::drinks::shots::herewego!:

    GO STEELERS!!!

Steelers rank 8th in points per game. They didn't get there kicking fieldgoals.

Im not really all that surprised we lost to the Jets. They still have Michael Vick and we have NO secondary so...

Im not really all that surprised we lost to the Browns. They still have Brian Hoyer and we have NO secondary so...

Im not really all that surprised we struggled against the Jags. They still have Brian Bortles and we have NO secondary so...

You've nailed it here, shaner. The truly elite quarterbacks throw their receivers open. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers. They all do it. They hit their guys immediately out of their breaks and even throw the ball before they break. Ben rarely ever does that. Ben's game is pump fake and scramble while the receiver breaks off of his primary route and works his way open.
