When the playoffs come, it's all hands on deck. You don't selectively bench guys for next week. Ben will only sit if he is unable to move.

Or 16 plays against Denver and loses. Then there is no Baltimore or NE. You can't sit your best player for the playoffs. There is no guarantee that the steelers can beat the broncos, but Ben gives then the best chance to win. Even if he does get hurt or have a setback and we win, at least we move on and we deal with that the following week. Dennis Dixon almost beat Baltimore a couple of years ago. We have to take the games one at a time and not look pass our opponent.

One major flaw in your reasoning. The Steelers and the Ravens where playing at the same time and the Steelers didn't have the luxury of knowing a win or lose wouldn't matter. Even if the Steelers where watching the score board..the Ravens game came down to the last few minutes. Plus, there is NO Pats or Ravens game without winning this one first. If Batch plays, and loses, just so Ben can be healthy for the next game...guess what, the next game is next season. In the playoffs, you dont look ahead at what might be... this is the ONLY game that matters.

Well if Tomlin had a crystal ball, then I would say you're right. However, all 3 games were simultaneous - when the game started it was the difference between a # 1 seed and a # 5 seed. Hindsight - yeah, Ben should have sat. Game-time decision - it was the right one.

Now, If Ben goes in the game and stinks up the joint, then I wouldn't hesitate to put Charlie in.

Nope, still a stupid decision. It's not like playing Batch is a guaranteed loss...against the freaking BROWNS! :bscow:

We should have played Batch and rested Ben. Worse case, we lose to the Browns, Ben is rested and we end up...wait...right where we are now! ...except with a better Ben.

if you would have rested Ben, then that would be two weeks without game reps, then a playoff game. Ben plays terrible when he doesn't get game and practice reps. Now, I could agree that they should of gave him maybe a quarter, then pulled him in favor of Batch.

A couple of you seem to have misinterpreted my post. I was not advocating for BR to sit any game if he was capable of playing at 80% or better. I was just saying that IF they wanted Ben to sit, the Cleve game would have been a better choice than any playoff game. Ben plays every game from here out. I don't want to see Charlie or anyone else but Ben taking snaps.

I put my number at 85% but I can drop down to 80% for discussion sake.

Thats what I am saying. Anything less than 80% start 16.

Well coach T...we had WAAAY too many injuries. For the record, I respected your decision to start Ben today. A 60% Ben or 100% Charlie-- probably wouldn't have even mattered the way our defense played.

God Bless and enjoy your off season. See Ya at training camp this summer!!!
    GOOOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!
