I remember the 74 team fondly as I hope others on here too. It was great to see how many were there today.

In case anyone was wondering, the living players that were missing today were-
    Jimmy Allen
    Terry Bradshaw
    Sam Davis
    Steve Davis
    Terry Hanratty
    Jack Lambert
    Preston Pearson
    Bobby Walden

As some on here know, Jimmy Allen is a friend of mine. I wrote to the Steelers in September with his latest address (he lives in Victorville, CA) and cell #. I last heard from Jimmy 3 weeks ago (text message). I do hope the Steelers made an effort to invite him. I will ask him about it the next time I talk to him, and I hope he will be there for the SB X reunion next year.

Lot already said about the absence of Bradshaw and Lambert. I am not surprised about the absence of either Sam or Steve Davis, as both have some health factors that would have prevented them from coming.

I was actually thinking today how much I hated for us to lay an egg in front of that great team. I was really hoping it would pump us up to play but apparently not. Most of these guys today are probably just wondering who all these old men are that are getting all the cheers. I don't know if we do some kind of "orientation" to rookies about the legacy of this franchise but I really think we should. These guys need to know what it is that we expect as fans and why we expect it.

It was really cool moment. I hope someone has the video and can post it so the board can see it.

It's a shame that my 13 year old daughter gets it and these current players don't. And to be fair, maybe they do but they certainly didn't make their on field guests leave feeling that.

That was a great team. What was even better was the following year 1975 which I think was the best team ever that did not go to the Super Bowl. That's the year Franco and Belier were hurt during the playoffs and they lost to the Raiders.

They had had a great run during the middle of that season when they kept shutting out teams with their defense. I could remember games when Lambert would make 9 or 10 tackles in a row, just and unbelievable defense.

I was wondering how many others didn't make it. Thanks for this.

    Thanx for the Video, Towel...

    WOW!!!...

Excuse me while I try to compose myself...

I had chills, goosebumps, and a few tears...

RIP, Chief, Charles, and the rest that couldn`t be there...

I respect Lambert`s privacy, and choice to live life on his terms, but I would`ve liked to hear the crowd, had he been introduced with the rest...

And I`m sure Terry had broadcasting obligations, he seems to have "mended fences" with our fans...

The rest of that was just "Amazing"!!!

Very rarely, will you see that much talent, from one team, that truly set the standard, for what every other team, wearing their colors, should aspire to!!!

And what every team, NOT wearing their colors, WISHED they could be!!!

The phrase "Once in a lifetime", has been overused, but it`s very true, when you think of the 70`s Steelers...

There never was, and never will be, another team, that turned around a franchise, like they did, meant so much to their city, and established a tradition, like they did...

And people ask me, "Why are you a Steeler Fan"?...

`Nuff Said... Thanks for that glimpse into Heinz Field last weekend, Towel.

Just think of what some of these 74 team members are thinking after seeing this pathetic performance in the midst of a playoff run. May God help us.
