steelers had record of 5-6 so this year they 7-4 so it 2 games improvement this year so be happy about that they better this year then last years yes i know make same mistake had few bad games like last year but record should matter right guess not with some people from way the team been playing not to their liking either

my opinion of them losing to bad team with bad worst record i agree shouldnt lose to them but i say the team with bad record not bad of team as people think like some say so and so team have good defense but have losing record least their defense keep the team in game they do lose or some it their offense like the bucs game early this year they were in all the game until very end of game before play steelers so the 1-8 teams or 2-7 teams actually would had better record when they play the steelers if they had few games go their way and won them so them beating steelers wouldnt been much of shock if had better record at the times

i notice few times steelers play jets or tennesse pittsburgh struggle against them every time play them no matter what even so dont play them some we win some wel ose to them often i saw sat earlier steelers is only 3-8 against tennesse in tennesse last few years not sure record in pittsburgh what record is against them even so steelers hold most win in series against them how cowhler was 1-6 against them again maybe only in tennesse some time seem like certain teams has our number when play them guess since play tennesse in pittsburh last year we had get them in their home stadium

This late bye week is exactly what they need with 5 players coming back off of injury, they should have fresh legs for this final push and two weeks to get ready for the saints....

That made me laugh out loud but you have to remember, English isn't the first language of everyone here.

I got the gist of what he said :smiley1:

    1. Even though the team has struggled more than we'd like, we should be happy because we have a better record than we had last season at this time. He thinks some fans are too pessimistic.

    2. He feels that some of the bad teams we've struggled with really aren't as bad as their won/loss record would lead you to believe. That those teams may have simply caught some tough breaks along the way.

    3. I think he's saying that we historically struggle with the Jets and Titans no matter who our coach is or what our record is.

At least that is how I read it.

    Good points.

I think this team is much better than the last two years. Many fans are hungry to see the Steelers get to the playoffs, after a couple seasons not making it. That's where I believe a lot of frustration comes from.

7-4 yes, should be 9-2, at least 8-3

I refuse to use last year as a measuring stick. That is some thing the Browns would do. Go back to 2008, use that as a measuring stick.

The Steelers have a better record this year, but the AFC is better as well. Again like last year the Chiefs are outpacing any other team for the first wild card as they could be 8-3 after Thursday considering they are playing the Raiders - though that is a rivalry game. Last year when the Steelers were 5-6 so were the Chargers, Dolphins, Ravens, Titans, and Jets. This year after this week the Steelers, Browns, Ravens, Chargers, and Dolphins could all be 7-4 though all of those teams have tough games on the road except the Chargers are at home against the Rams who just beat Denver.

The good news for the Steelers is they control their own destiny so hopefully they will take advantage of that. Also the division is there for the taking being at most a 1/2 game behind the Bengals at the end of the weekend and being able to play them twice.

There's no need to make the guy feel bad. The guy is a Steelers fan.

Besides, most of us can barely curse in a 2nd language.

I think the fact we heave a better record this year is good, but; given our standards and the talent I believe we have I am disappointed in the let downs we have incurred. I believe our offense (When playing to their potential) is the best in this league period. I feel sometimes we have let downs, give up when we had a lead or play down to our opponent's. Our defense is ok but should be better thus we should not play this poorly on D.

We should be 9-2 or at the least 8-3 and this is why I'm displeased. I believe that we have some into the last three seasons not ready to play or just to dam cocky. We have BIG short comings with our coaching and BIG short comings with our players. We are in the hunt and if we play to our talent we will win this division, but our let downs have made this more difficult.

    Parity is a bee yatch...
Bye week is coming at a good time...
Yes, we SHOULD dominate "weak teams"...
But, A win is a Win, and no, I don`t mean to imply that should be the "Standard"...
I think Kiesel is happy we are "in the hunt"...
Could be better.. Could be worse...
1st place in the division ain`t bad, 10 weeks in, tho...
Like Pettine said, "you don`t get awards for what you did thru 9 (or 10) games...
Let`s handle business against the Aint`s, on a week`s rest, and AT HOME...
At least split, if not sweep the Bungles, and we can get to Lombardi#7!!!!
This team STILL has the talent to beat ANYONE, whn we don`t kill ourselves!!!:herewego!:

Pretty much this. This team is improving but there are going to be growing pains and bumps in the road. Instead of *****ing, try looking at the big picture. The Steelers seem to be coming out of a rebuilding/reloading phase where rock bottom was 8-8. Very few franchises west of Boston can say that. Perspective. Be glad you root for who you root for.

Yes, I think someone else was saying in another thread how, while their record was poor, the Jets matched up well against us. Still not a reason by itself to lose, but something to consider. I didn't know that about our record against the Titans - for some reason I can only ever remember the first game of 2005 when Willie Parker destroyed them - but it does seem we have our trap teams.
