The Steelers have ZERO rushing touchdowns in the last two games.

So what's the NFL rushing TD record for single and consecutive games? We have the horses to break it. Why not. We'll be getting a record setting #7 Lombardi this season so why not break every other possible record we can in the process?

No the stats will reflect tomorrow that Spaeth is awarded a rushing/receiving TD due in large part to his lumbering speed to the endzone.

I'd like to see him and Heath in a foot race. They'd time it using a calendar. :lolol:

If we keep winning I don't care if we score another TD all season as long as we win

6 Lombardi's is already record setting. 7 is just piling on at this point. Which I am totally in favor of btw. LOL!

If we manage to win without scoring another TD all year Tomlin will get coach of the year. LOL! I know what you mean though.

Sorry, I can't get on board with this. This is the new NFL - that kind of thinking is what gives us heartbreaking losses because we don't stomp on our opp's throats, and then twist with a nice metal cleat.

    (Hopefully you were being sarcastic)

Sigh...forcing me to log in on my iPad because I can't consciously let this comment go without decapitating it.

There would be no leads to protect if we didn't pass down the field. You must be one of those stuck in the 70s who gets excited watching 2yard power runs. That type of offense doesn't score points in today's league. Passing down the field line we have the past two weeks, does.

    Lol.

It's true, though. We should campaign to get Glen Edwards' number retired, you know.

Yes, it does concern me. As great as Ben has been the last 2 weeks, NE showed that even the best passing attack can sometimes be shut down. In those cases where we are struggling to pass down field, it would be nice to have a running game to rely on. Despite Bell's numbers this year, I don't have much faith in our abilitty to line up and rush for 1st downs consistently. I don't think we can do it. It wasn't a problem the last 2 weeks, but it may be a problem at some point in the future when we desperately need 1st downs in a game and just can't seem to get them.

No! Ive been yelling this for years. Passing is the way to go....We are still running but just throwing short passes to Bell instead....I love it....I hope and pray it continues

I see what you mean about the question of how much we can rely on the ground game. We're still weak at running the ball in the red zone. But I also think that the lack of TDs - in the last few games at least - have been down to doing what's working.

Against Indy, I thought that part of our success was that they were having to set up against the run, and we were keeping them guessing.

Against Baltimore, while we didn't gash them for rushing yards, Blount was getting the job done when needed. But that had already been set up by the passing attack.

I love the run and you need a balanced attack pass-happy league or not. I think they've done the run well enough to get by and I'm not worried about it. The Oline is coming together, the team is playing with a little fire, D is getting pressure and turnovers, and Bryant has added a new dimension to the offense.

I want wins. We're getting them and we've had good drives late in games and scored in the second half. The redzone offense has improved dramatically and if teams have to adjust to the pass it will give us the run if and when we need it.

As much as I've beefed about the play of the offense and the QB in the redzone I'm not going to criticize it when they put up 12 TDs in two weeks.

I usually have a "the heck with the stats"mentality. If The Steelers win an important game 3-0 that's a great game.

The great Greg Hawthorne had #27 too! I think Blast meant that Hawthorne was the last player with the last rushing TD. ;)
