This quote kinda pumped me up for a moment. We're really going to get a chance to see what Redman can do soon. :rawk:

He's got more than just confidence,,,,he has the Heart,Will, and Determination to match.....As I stated in the Starks quote thread ,,,it's not every day a RB makes a Defense start questioning their ability to get a guy on the ground.....

Redman will be fine esp. if BA will stick to the run game and use the PA pass.......1 thing I can say and I believe 100% there is no Team in the NFL who will stop Redman 4 times in a row from the 1 yard line......As I stated when he hit camp he was the 1 RB our D could not stop.....

Starks says he can't wait to see what Redman will do with extra carries......Miller had a similar view....

The bottom line is that Redman's running style will force another guy into the box the reason is 2 fold because he won't dance beind the line and it usually takes more than 1 guy to secure the tackle......This should help the WR'S,QB, and the OL if we keep Red involed in the game.....I for 1 would love 1st. down and 2nd. and short to become mostly PA downs .....I would also like for 3rd. and 3 or 4 and less to become running downs.....

This is the approach that we have needed all along....

I hope we're right, and I think Redman knows taht this is his moment to make a case to break into the first team proper. Combined with, as PWP says, his heart and determination, this can only be good for us.

However, I think we might be reading a few too many things into these player quotes. It's not like they're going to say, "What, we're going with Redman? Noooooooooo!"

The comment about defenders arguing over who was going to tackle Redman was good to hear, but I'm not concluding from something Starks found amusing about the Browns to "no defense can stop him." The o-line needs to play for him, in a way they haven't been with Mendenhall this season (for whatever reason).

I have to give PWP credit. He's been pimping Redman from the beginning and he was right. Redman is a Steeler running back and has the talent to take us to the promise land!

LOL....I just Love a player with Heart,,,I respect a guy who takes the hard road,,,,,if only BA would turn him loose people would see what I can see....Redman is a 30 carry RB he is Big and Strong and he punishes would be tacklers......He should have been used as the set up guy every since he got here......Redman will break the will of tacklers and wear them down physically the problem has been that our OC does not want to play that way even though a lot of Steeler players do.......

Can you Imagine what Mendenhall could have done in the 3rd. and 4th. Quarters after Redman had beat them down????I can he would have broke a lot of long runs every single game,,,but a last our OC Loves the pass to much so now Red will have to carry the load and punish guys to get the TE'S open ......Those same guys who are trying to tackle Red have to cover the other guys so wear them out take the spring out of their step.....

I have no doubt we are built to be a Power House on O ,but we don't have the right OC to do it consistantly......My hope is BA just does it for 4 games in a Row and Teams will know what Football is really all about....

All the same stuff in almost identical threads was said about Mendy when he was first breaking his first good games and everyone was screaming to get rid of Willie Parker. Mendy had heart, Mendy was fast, found the holes, had the big play, was just what our running game needed.

Give it 2 years and there will be some other young buck coming in, breaking a few holes, and there will be "Cut Redman?" threads.

:good: I have complete confidence in Redman. I am more worried about Lewis and Allen being injured and McBadden having to be out on the field :scare:

I'd forgotten about that, but it's true. Parker was always getting picked up for not running between the tackles, always looking to break a big one and getting stuffed, etc. It's something about the Steeler mould, I guess. We don't have a long history of agile speedsters compared to out list of battering rams.

PWP... I couldn't resist that. However, in your defense, even though I was unable to respond on the old board I know that you had pimped Redman from day one. I have always taken the stance that you give the ball to the player that is doing the damage. I guess I am a little more fluid than some NFL coaches. I have my favorite players but if they aren't getting the job done and someone else can do the damage, I'm all for it. I've been a Steeler's fan for a long time. The names and faces come and go but the team is always foremost in my thoughts!

Sometimes I wonder how much pressure the owners and GMs put on a coach to play the guys with the big paychecks. Tomlin's job is to win football games, but even above that his job is just like most others, make the Boss happy.

I live in TN. Alot of people that I work with hate the Steelers. They keep coming up to me and saying "Mendenhall is out. You guys are done." and I'm like "Redman is IN! WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!" The only thing that worries me is whether BA will swallow his pride and stupidity and just USE HIM!!!!!

I would be willing to bet that behind closed doors there is more of this than any of us would ever care to admit. I mean, I know how much I enjoy being wrong and I'm not on national TV.

Yeah their may be those threads ,,but I for one will never agree if Redman is healthy......Red is a powerful, determined,in your face type of RB.......I would never agree to cutting any RB with those skills,,,,dancers, shifty guys, guys with Raw Talent will fade......

Let's not do what the Rams did and cut a Power House and watch him lead other Teams.....

RB'S are a dime a dozen so to speak ,,,but true Power Backs are very hard to come by,,,maybe once or twice every 5 years or so...The problem with these guys are their health ,,,,it is hard to stay Healthy when you get hit 5 or 6 times each time they carry the ball.....So if you find 1 and he can stay somewhat Healthy you best not cut him.....
