    overview:
i'm so excited, I can barely type this!!! we explode offensively and beat a very good colts team. big ben becomes the only qb in nfl history with 2 500 yd passing games and the defensive front 7 was in lucks face all game!!! only a few hiccups, which i'll get into later, but overall, I couldn't be happier. hopefully, this is the start of something big

    offense:
    1.
games are won up front, and the o-line was lights out!!! not one lineman had a bad game in this one, and but for that ill advised qb run at the end of the game, ben didn't have a single oz. of dirt on his uniform...... who were those guys up front anyway
    2. Antonio browns greatness is starting to get boring... that's a good thing.
    3. last weeks benching must have been a wake up call for wheaton
    4. aside from 1 bad drop, martavus Bryant was money
    5. shout out to the coaches for keeping the foot on the gas pedal
    6. I know I gave props to the o-line, but I've got to individually point out mike adams performance for the 2nd wk in a row

    defense:
    1.
pressure was coming from all angles on the front 7.... a lesser qb would've folded long ago
    2. I sincerely hope cortez allen is inactive after this game
    3. the competition committee needs to review these ticky tack fouls.... the flags are seriously out of hand on both sides
    4. did keisel and Harrison find the fountain of youth somewhere

    special teams:
    1.
nice to see brad wing's leg strength on display
    2. the return teams really need to work on blocking.

aside from the offense putting it all together
the biggest thing I'm taking away from this game is a feeling Troy is pretty much done
he is late on everything and missing tackles
yes Allen is having a hard time but his help is never getting there either

I'm going to give an unsung hero shout out to Will Johnson, who blocked well today and made 2 catches.

I love the Steelers, and I am happy for this win...

but I have to admit that even watching this team win these days is painful. We put up 42 points of offense and the game is still in question late into the second half. Don't get me wrong, I like the pressure on Luck we were getting, but as a whole our defense is very suspect.

    Ah well....GO STEELERS!!

Disagree. They came with a plan, and it worked.

Cortez Allen single handedly kept Indy in the game.

Well, Andrew Luck is no slouch and the Colts have some weapons on offense. I'm not too upset over that.

Not sure to whom you refer when you say "they came with a plan."

However, even if it is true that Allen was the one who kept Indy in the game (which I don't believe)....well, our defense is only as strong as its weakest link. So whether it's Allen, the secondary as a whole, or the front seven, the defense is suspect, imho.

These uniforms are awesome. Wish they would wear them every game. As long as the offensive line plays like this our offense will be lights out. Can we get some blocking on punt and kickoff returns. These flags are driving me crazy, not just the ones on the Steelers but in every game you watch. And one more thing before I go: Cortez Allen is horrible!!!

Luck spent most of his time on the ground. He got some good throws off that were deep to the right.. Yup Allens right.. No coincidence Cortez was picked on. Everyone sees it. Time for Cortez to spend some time on the bench. Blake should be starting

Allen was benched during the game, and I certainly don't have an issue with it. I just think the defensive problems are bigger than Allen.

I did like the pressure on Luck, as I said above. Hopefully we'll see similar pressure in the games ahead :)

    - got to give the game ball to the offensive line. I have been on these guys for two years and they played their best game ever. Big shout to Mike Adams. I don't think they had a penalty.
    - AB is AB
    - Martavis Bryant and Wheaton showed up today. Even though I wanted to bench Wheaton.
    - If Heath had some speed he would be deadly.
    - What else can be said about Cortez Allen? If he is not inactive after today I don't know what the coaching staff is doing. I would at least put him on special teams but no way he should see the defensive lineup.
-Our defense is atrocious. We need at least one dominant pass rusher. If it wasn't for blitzes we would never get to the quarterback. They had one receiver in Ty Hilton and he torched us.
-I would not bring out any more kickoff returns. We can't even make it to the 20.
-It won't happen this year but Shamarko Thomas needs to replace Troy.

The Colts put up this many points just about every game so far this year, wouldn't read too much into that, they have a high octane offense.

Defense was swarming today and offense was lights out.

Not to jinx them but surprise surprise, went on a run same time last year.

Ah grasshoppers, I'l teach you yet.

did anyone else notice antonio bryant led our team with 5 catches today
does nobody at CBS listen to their broadcasters?
you think they would have made a point of it today after calling him bryant 3 times in the ravens game
worst thing is both simms and nance do it
so happy next week is NBC

And it's a simple as replacing Allen. ;)

(And I agree with another poster. Indy had at least 2 TDs that came on drives that should have been OVER if not for very suspect officiating. This game was nowhere near as close as the scoreboard indicated)

Yeah where did this defense come from that played against the Colts?

It seemed like Lebeau, Mitchell, or Butler really lit a fire under the front 7 and also drew up some new schemes in the process.

The front 7 was attacking much differently then previous weeks, and even last year?

:lolol: I saw that clip of him getting tackled inside the 5. I do think it's worth pointing out... I think he'd have scored if he properly faded towards the pylon, away from the guy who got him. Instead, he ran way too close to him, upfield, and then tried to run away at the last minute. It made him look pretty slow and stupid, I thought, but when I watched it again I noticed something else:

He checked his right side after catching the ball and saw the defender over there coming at him, so he had to balance where he ran. He didn't see when Lance Moore leveled that guy, so he kept running too close to the defender on his left, keeping himself away from what was really an invisible man. That would have been really wise if Moore hadn't blocked that guy. That's exactly how fumbles happen. Heath was playing smart and safe, and looked dorky for it. Too bad, but at least we got a TD on the drive, and he got a TD later on!

believe it or not.... in this pass happy era, ben is the only qb ever with 2 500 yd. games
