Pretty much what has been talked about here, McCullers may play, Tuitt will get more playing time (thank God), McCain more playing time, Bryant should get a hat too. Been six weeks, hopefully McCullers and Bryant are ready to make an impact, especially Bryant, I want a redzone TD out of him or 5

One thing I liked at the end of that article was Tomlin challenging Worilds, told him to earn the money they laid out for him this season. :applaud:

Maybe we should use McCullers as a fullback in the red zone

And how is this secondary going to match up against their big receivers like Andre Johnson??? The Texans put up 28 points against the colts, can we score enough points to keep up in this game?? Can this Oline keep Watt from wrecking the backfield??? This matchup doesn't look good for the steelers.....

At this point i'll take anyone just to see if we can start scoring again in the redzone.

There are plenty of theories going around on what ails the 2-5 Steelers. They are slow starters, allow too many big plays on defense and can't run the ball on offense. All that is true, but the inability to score and prevent touchdowns in the red zone is as big a problem as any for this team.

As the Steelers approach the halfway point of the 2013 season, they are 30th in the NFL in red-zone offense. Only the winless Jacksonville Jaguars have a harder time scoring touchdowns in the red zone than the Steelers.

And if so, it only took 3 or 4 years.

Maybe Tomlin should try starting to earn his money. Who knows maybe he is trying and simply not getting it done.

They should try to see what they have in the younger guys. Although this makes me wonder if it's a desperation move by Tomlin to either save his job, or perhaps point the finger at Colbert for his roster moves.
As for Worilds, there is a silver lining to this. If he keeps up his play, they won't have to worry about his salary, as he'll be lucky to get more than league minimum. He should have signed the offer the Steelers tried to work with him when they tagged him. He's probably played himself out of millions of dollars.

The plan should be to simplify assignments. Assume Watt is coming on every down, Gilbert and Beacham should be instructed if he lines up across from them their job is to block him that's it. If he shows that he is dropping into coverage don't fall for it. Sole responsibility is blocking Watt. Then the game plan should be attack him over and over again. Runs draws or power runs at him. TE screenactment RB screens quick slants attack him and keep attacking him.

Seeing some fresh faces on the field will be entertaining in itself to me. Even if we lose by 21-28 points, if some young fresh faces show promise, I will consider it a success...because the players currently playing aren't getting the job done.

You want to believe that the words Coach T says will work, and that the guys will get it together but for 6 games now... It's nothing new. So why not try the young guys out? Could they really be worse?

On defense we will definitely see a different look.

    Heyward, McCullars and tuitt
    Worilds, Timmons, Spence and Moats
    McCain, Gay, Polomalu and Mitchell

Who are these guys? I see a changing of the guards.

I agree with you, but it saddens me that we are at a point where we need to wonder if we can put up 28 points to win a game. Geesh, I miss having a defensive juggernaut in Pittsburgh

The team has nothing to lose by playing the young guys on D. This is not a team that is going to do great things this year so we should try every combination of personnel to see if anything clicks. Maybe we will even find lighting in a bottle and make a run, but it is not going to happen doing the same things we have done so far.

But the Texans have Fitzpatrick at QB, he's good for two ints a game.

I agree 58. Best way to beat a bully is to punch him in the mouth.

We need to see 2 WR sets with 2 TEs or most likely a TE and a FB to help with both Watt and Clowney assuming he plays. Than just punch them in the mouth. Draws slants and quick screens to their strength.Wear them the **** down than over run them. Thats my game plan anyway.

Sad part is, we make those types of QBs look like HOF'ers consistently. And Fitz ain't bad he's just inconsistent and a after a few bombs he's do for his great game. I hate to say it, but he does come around every now and then and I for one don't want to see it, but acknowledge the pattern.
