Hey all. Finally broke down and joined the board today. Been following "the other" board since around '03 but I gave up trying to register after a few times. Any how, predictions for the AFC playoffs:

    Week 1
Bungholes Vs. Texans - Bungholes beat the Schuabless Texans
Steelers Vs. Bronocs - Steelers obviously. Tebow-Time comes to an abrupt end

    Week 2
Bungholes Vs. Pat's - Pat's offense proves too much for the Bengals
Steelers Vs. Rat's - Steelers don't lose 3 times to the same team in 1 season. Rat's still can't get over that Steeler hump.

    AFC Championship
Steelers Vs. Pat's - Steeler's finally get that playoff victory against Brady and Co.

We've looked weak the last few games but this team has been there and done that. They will be ready. :towel:

I like your optimism. We deserve to have to go through Baltimore since the Ratbirds beat us twice this year. They earned homefield against us. The good news is that I like our chances against them in Baltimore. It will be that much sweeter WHEN we go in there and beat them!

I like your optimism, but I just don't think this team is the same team as years past. It seems we have no emotion, no burning desire to win, no passion, and no identity. We can't seem to run or pass against the good teams (other than one week vs the Pats).

I just don't trust this team like I have in years past.

These playoffs are between 3 teams. Steelers, Patriots, and Ravens. The other 3 are just glad to be there.

    Holy sh!t.

All your posts are negative and annoying. Even if the Steelers did win the super bowl you'd find something negative to say because im sure you're not the type of poster that would choke on his words.

I just can't help it this year, I have little faith in this team. It would be different if we didn't have the players to get it done, but we are an absolute stacked team that is underperforming badly on the offensive side of the ball.

I am not normally negative about our team, but this year has left a bad taste in my mouth, despite our record. I'm just very disappointed in BA, Tomlin and Ben. I'm sick of all three of them.

On a side note, if you find my posts that annoying, don't read them. Skip over them if it bothers you that much. I'm not biased and I'm not a homer. I love the Steelers, but will not say good things about an underperforming team just because they are my team.

I understand what you're saying. I don't totally agree, but I do understand. We are playing pretty well on defense and that's a plus. Our offense though continues to be one of the most ill-conceived and inefficient offensese in football, in spite of some great weapons!

It's quit maddening. Our D has not let anyone score more than 20pts this entire season other than the week 1 debacle. We've only given up 48pts in the last 6 games yet each game is a nail bitter because we can't put a coherent offensive game plan together. With the weapons we have on the O side we should be hanging 28+ pts on teams. However, getting Denver in the first game is a blessing. Our D should be at full strength with Woodley back and most of the crew healthy. 14 points should win the game for us although I'm sure BA's strategy will be to throw to Champ Bailey's side early and often.

:lolsign: I wonder sometimes, and this is not an attack on you shaner, but how do pessimist fans get to enjoy the season? It just seems like even if we win it all it would be impossible for them to really enjoy it after a season of complaining and unhappiness of the teams play.

I'm worried about Ben's health. If he can get better week by week, we should be a force to be reckoned with!

I hope the initial projections (from the original poster) come true. They certainly could if Ben's health improves. We need to be careful not to underestimate the potent Broncos D. It will be nice to have Harrison and Woodley on the field together. I think the loss of Mendy will hurt us (especially if we play against the Ravens or Patriots). Regardless, I think the Steelers have a shot at making it back to the big game. C'mon Ben.

Actually, I think that playing the Pats may be better in game two (assuming we win in Denver). We need Ben as healthy as possible for the Ravens.

To be honest, I haven't enjoyed this year nearly as much as I normally enjoy watching the Steelers. They have frustrated me to no end this year. We have basically abandoned our roots as a running team because we are supposedly this high powered passing team. Okay fine, it's a passing league, I can live with us becoming a passing team, except for the fact that we can't pass worth a damn, at least not to score points. Other than last game, we rarely pass to our RB's, we virtually never pass to our TE's, we rarely pass to Ward even when he's in, despite him having great hands and the will to fight for the 1st down, we got rid of our FB's because we now use some garbage TE who can't run block or catch the ball. We have the players on this team to put up points like GB and NE do, yet we don't even come close, and that's on the coaching. I'm just sick of it. It's been 5 years of this garbage, and no matter how much talent we have on the offensive side, the result is always the same. Eventually Dick Lebeau is going to move on, and then we may not have the defence to bail us out all the time. What then, is Tomlin finally going to admit that BA needs to go and Ben needs to change, or is he going to remain stubborn and keep doing what he's doing.

As far as the Patriots are concerned, this is an interesting article about their chances from today's Boston Globe:

    http://www.boston.com/sports/football/p ... sy+columns

It's also important to point out that since 1992, only FIVE of the 19 top seeds in the AFC have reached the Super Bowl- the 1993 Bills, the 1998 Broncos, the 2002 Raiders, and the 2003 and 2007 Patriots.

Thats sucks man, let that stuff go and enjoy the victories. What I took from this post is that winning isn't enough for you, you need them to win by 21 points or so. I agree with some of what you wrote in there but as long as they win then so what. We've seen them put together a solid win against NE, the Titan game was a pretty good game too so you know they are capable of it. I'm hoping they put it together for the playoff run. :herewego:

Except for a few games here and there, I can not remember a time when I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat watching a Steelers game, and I love every minute of it. How can you not enjoy winning?

Props to you, Shaner. You've taken a little flak for your comments and yet have been cool about it. Wish more people wouldn't take message board postings as a personal attack.

I think it'll be a PIT vs NE AFC Championship and a GB vs NO NFC Championship.

    PIT vs GB rematch!

I'd love to see a rematch with GB. I want to beat them almost as much as I want to beat the Rats
