We had a tough one as the offense struggled but more importantly it showed how a weak secondary can be helped when you have a good d-line. The jags secondary is worse than the Steelers but their front 4 got pressure, sacks, and a forced fumble without any blitzing, that would really help the defense right now as we can't get pressure when rushing 5 most times.

No crap. But when they don't turn the defensive linemen free to get pressure/etc...but instead occupy blockers/etc...thats what happens. Back in the Carolina game they let them free and it had a good impact and such...but the last few weeks they've been back to the norm.

Yes, he was his same ineffective self. He really should be equipped with a back up alarm like a tri-axle truck...dooooot...dooooot...dooooot...

Tuitt got a sack, didn't he? In my mind he fills in for Cam, but tbh didn't notice who Tuitt was on for then.

I thought Heyward got a sack today. I never remembered seeing Tuitt get one.

Has McCullers been active yet? I know Bryant hasn't.

I don't think either of them has gotten a hat yet on game day.

Pretty sure it was Worlids. Tuitt was on top of the QB in the pile, but Worlids has at the bottom.

Oh the sweet bliss of seeing other fans beginning to understand that the defensive line is terribly wretched!

I thought it was Worlids as well. 92 was also on that pile.

tuitt is getting better in a couple of games we could say bye bye to cam thomas .now if we develop mc cullers as a nose good otherwise we need to draft a big ready nose tackle next year (sheldon from washinghton fit the bill )

In Tomlin's news conference today, he suggested Tuitt is earning more playing time.

yeah tuitt heiward at de with mcullers as rotational backup , we need a stout nose with mc lendon as a backup . could be a very good defensive line . let's start from here than left tackle or olb .. depends who is there

Thomas is horrible! Why McCullers isn't dressed and getting rotational reps at NT is baffling. At the very least if he gets stood up, he can get his hands up at 6-7! Other teams are getting deflections left and right! He can manage a push with his motor as well.

    OK..
I will go with the "scheme" thing...
As has been pointed out, when we got after Cam Newton, we GOT PRESSURE on him...
Why don`t we do that against other teams? Esp, with young qb`s?
Are their O-Lines that much better?
I`m still seein (old ass) Keisel, getting in Bortle`s face, at the end of the game, to force an incomplete pass...
Did he get there cuz he was pissed/ gave extra effort?
Was there a blitz I didn`t notice, that took up blockers, and gave him an easier path to the qb?
    I`m not a coach. I don`t review game film.
There are a lot of details that escape me, as a "casual fan"...
But, I KNOW, when we get pressure on the qb, we are more effective on D!!!
Why do we play off the recievers so far in general???
I get the "keep everything in front of you" concept, to a point...
But, when you miss tackles, that don`t work...
    Don`t get me wrong...
I love what LeBeau has done for us, and I`m not calling for his head,
I`m just curious, where "Blitzburgh" went???
We have always seemed to be at our best, when we attack the Offense, and keep them off balance...
Not, sitting back, reacting to them...
Is it that we CAN`T get to the qb, when we blitz?
Is it the D-line not getting enuff pressure?
Are they doing what they`re told to do( occupy blockers)?
That really hasn`t seemed to change since Casey was here.
He was good at it, and maybe our backers were better...
But, I think McClendon has more athletic ability to push the pocket in on the qb... Not just eat blockers.
Is that what he`s being asked to do?
You can disrupt the running game, by getting in the backfield, also...
I try not to question Dick`s wisdom.
He knows more about football, than I ever will,
But we seem very passive/reactive, or our blitzes, just aren`t getting to the qb...
    What needs to change?
    The talent?
McCullers is a MOUNTAIN of a man, but I think he is very raw, and needs to see "spot-duty", to learn his job.
Keisel is old, but he still seems to be the best lineman we have.
No problem with Cam Heyward, I think he is just gonna get better over time.
The other Cam, on the other hand, seems like he should maybe be spelled by Tuitt a little more often...
Tuitt looks to have a lot of potential.
To get to it, tho, you have to go thru some gowing pains...
I`m not saying play him every snap, but, maybe closer to half of them, than he`s getting now...
    Just my thoughts.
    Had to vent.
    Opposing opinions?
    GO STEELERS!

Yeah, I'm confused by your posts sometimes as well. Maybe a space between the different thought lines? Not dissing on you, just a thought.
