Earlier this yr I posted that I felt Brown was better than Wallace and I believe as the season unfolded, there r many more believers now. What is up with Wallace now it seems he is regressing? He has no desire to go over the middle and appeared to be bracing for the hit before catching the ball......not a way to secure a long term contract if u ask me.

It is easier to see if you are at the game live, but Wallace has a corner and a safety stacked on him at all times - a good portion of the time both turn and sprint. Brown gets single coverage. Wallace is a bigger threat. If Wallace leaves Brown will not be as visible.

This is correct. Wallace is still a weapon that tems plan to eliminate. Brown is benefitting from this.

Wallace is a two trick pony. He either beats you deep or runs a drag across the middle. Both he can just outrun you but he isn't a good route runner and doesnt seem to want to battle for it

His ankle has nothing to do with him battling for the ball. I just want to see him go get a ball and fight for it. You would never see Fitzgerald just let a pick happen. He is going to go get the ball. That is what we all hope Wallace could get to, but is starting to look like he will just run fast and catch the easy ball. He still has value but tough to throw it up to someone who just lets a pick happen.

Brown certainly does seem to be far more polished and complete as a WR than Wallace. And I would dearly love to see Wallace show more fight in going TO the ball.

But I'm not going to knock Wallace. He's an important piece of our puzzle either way. Wait until we start scoring points enough to get people's attention. They'll start doubling on Brown. Then look out.

I'm not convinced either receiver is necessarily dominant on their own... yet. But as a tandem, they work very well regardless of who gets the attention.

I am not convinced with our "young money" receivers, except for Brown.

I would take Ward/Burress/Randel El anyday over Wallace/Brown/Sanders. But we have to play with the cards we are delt I guess. I am rendered completely speechless when the Steelers refuse to use Heath Miller and HInes Ward in the redzone.

Wallace- cb and safety on him
Brown- #2 cb on him, just do the math
This is a team effort and Wallace is doing his job while Brown does his
    Go STEELERS!!!!!

Well said, not to take anything away from brown because he has been great for us this year, however wallace is the reason brown has been so successul. It's hard to double team two players without leaving someone else wide open.

So was Jerry Rice but he still found a way to make plays and be a difference maker. I'm not comparing Wallace to Rice, but he has set some pretty lofty expectations for himself and if he wants to achieve those the excuses need to stop and the play needs to be stepped up!

If we cant get wallace open on using curls and slants then lets throw him the slanting long ball.

Not buying the whole double cover stuff....plenty of other # 1 receivers on teams that r getting doubled but still managing to put up huge numbers week in and week out. Not saying Wallace isn't good, just maybe a little overrated at this point.....it's long or nothing with him.

    I like Wallace.

However, he doesn't make any aggressive effort when balls are thrown to him in coverage or when Ben over throws him. IMHO, He's gotta play tougher and not give up on plays.

Agreed. Wallace is extremely fast, but he's not overly talented. He doesn't adjust to underthrown or overthrown balls, and when in double coverage, he seems to just give up on the play. It's almost like he doesn't believe he can go up and get the ball, so he just doesn't try. To be fair though, he may not be able to go up and get the ball against DB's as that's not really his style. He needs to be open or he has trouble catching the ball, he can't fight off a DB.

Brown is our #1 receiver by far, regardless of who is getting the double coverage.
