Now is the perfect time for a competing football league

With all the turmoil going on and fans becoming more and more disgruntled with the game, now would be the time for someone to present a new league. I actually watched USFL when it was around, Chicago Blitz was the team I chose to follow. I didn't get into the XFL at all, didn't like it but the USFL was basically the same as the NFL IIRC.

This doesn't mean I want the NFL to go under, I love the Steelers, no team could ever replace the passion I feel for them, just saying the time is ripe to bring in a new league.

No! There was nothing worse than the UFC and Price being separate organizations. I got so sick of the best fighters in the world not ever having to fight each other. The same will happen with football. The best talent will be spread out and the best teams will always be compared but will never play each other.

Keep the best players in one league. Besides, it's not like the NFL is in trouble, it's making more money than ever. Ratings are through the roof, so despite the complaints from a tiny minority, the NFL is doing just fine.

I remember the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers team. Ironically enough it was owned by the 49ers owner's Dad, Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr.

    I agree with Blast Furnace.

These new leagues are, as expected, a long shot. There are 2 new leagues that I know about but both are already having a hard time from what I am reading.

The A11FL has already taken down their website and looks like they are reorganizing.

The "New" USFL has been postponed until 2015.

I wish the UFL had survived because the Virginia team played 10 minutes away from my house.

I also watched the USFL but really didn't have a team due to being a huge fan of the Steelers. I rooted for teams with former Steelers like Banaszak's team (Michigan)
