Not sure if anyone saw the Bill Parcells segment this morning on Sunday NFL Countdown. But he was talking about how bad the officials are on calling hits on receivers. He said one group has called 40 more judgement penalties than any other group of officials. They have called over 800 yards in penalties for hitting the receivers. He said we need to fix this and let the men play. How sweet would it be to have Bill Parcells as the commissioner of the NFL!!!! :clapping:

This has been terribly inconsistent, not just between the different ccrews but also within a single game. It seems to depend on who the players are, who the teams are, and the hit along with the official. It is ashame that these judgement, iffy, undefinable, calls are having a direct beasring on game outcomes.

I saw the segment. And yes Parcells would be a very good commissioner. Goddell is the worst. What "REAL" football backgound does Goddell really have anyway? I can't find anything directly related to a team or such, only the politics of the league.

I'd welcome Bill Parcels as a new commisioner in a heart beat. The clown we have there now is completely softening the sport and making it one dimensional.
Dan Marino was talking about his passing record being broken that he held for 25 years and said he hopes Brees can keep it that long and then said it is not likely to happen. The game is too offensively tilted now to a passing league and over protection of the QB.

    JACK LAMBERT FOR COMMISSIONER 2012!

I think that would be very cool. My only concern would be possible favortism to his old teams. I could deal with any potential favortism if it means a return to football and Goodell out of there.

Yes, I saw it, too. I normally don't pay too much attention to what Parcells has to say, but he was dead-on, here.

Did you see that 67-56 Alamo Bowl between Baylor and Washington? I sure hope Goodell didn't, because it seems today's fans, like this bozo, http://bleacherreport.com/articles/9963 ... llege-game, just can't enough jollies in seeing games with no defense.

i watched that. it was one crew that was way out of line. the crew that did the steelers/browns game , they said was a playoff crew. they were pretty decent. now the crew that had the patriots game should be run out of the league. i'd go with bill, and agree with another poster that lambert could be vice commish. :club: :rules:

They have ruined a beautiful game, the offense has so much more
advantage than the defense, that it is sickening.

I only read a few post on this one and I already like it already. Yes, I would love to see Parcells as the new Commish because he is old school. See the hits that Parcells TE Mark Bavaro took during his time with the Giants.

I also love the post that said JACK LAMBERT FOR COMMISH too. Yes, everybody knows that Goodell has made the game soft. Also, Parcells is right about letting the men play the game. All this passing and protecting the QB is sickening. You can't ever touch Marsha BRADY anymore.

I remember the good old days when MEL BLOUNT use to cover the receiver like a glove, be all over them all the way down the field. I remember two things about the Steelers of the 70's, Jack Lambert slamming a Cowboy and saying "THAT OUTTA COOL YOUR ASS OFF". and Joe Green stepping on somebody after the play was over, and he didn't get suspended for doing it. Joe was just naturally mean and nasty, hince his name MEAN JOE GREEN!!!!!

The Steelers had a very nasty disposition when they played the game. Roger Goodell has taken that part of the game away. Anybody who plays the game nasty, he fines and suspends. Example, Harrison and Ndomukung Suh!!!!!
