I will take a 12 - 4 season almost every year! With the injuries to key players on both sides of the ball, suspensions, Superbowl loss hangover, and yes, some boneheaded playcalling, I think 12 - 4 is impressive. Better than I would have predicted in August. Sure, we should blow out every team by 20 points or more, but 12 - 4, I'll take it.

Thanks for a great regular season, Steelers, and on to the playoffs!!

Remember there are lots of teams whose season ended today. Let's be grateful for what we have as Steelers fans, high expectations and all.

I think I predicted this record with our weak schedule!

Heh. I think this was the consensus prediction on the old board. Even after our first loss. Even after our second loss. Anything less than 11-5 would have been an abysmal failure. 11-5 would be below par. 12-4 was par. We could have (maybe should have) gone 13-3 or 14-2.

But hey, it's a new season. Everyone is 0-0 right now.

    - And - ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs. Everyone is beatable, and everyone is capable of running the table. Personally, I think that Denver peaked early and should be a win for the Steelers. Houston seems to be heating back up and will probably beat the Bengirls - who backed into the playoffs - but who knows. So, it seems like we may end up going to New England and the Texans to Baltimore. Health will become a factor at that point. If Ben doesn't get real mobile real soon, beating the Patsies and Rats/Oilers will be very difficult.

I do feel that the Steelers are the scariest team in the tournament at this point because have the 3rd best record, but are the 5th seed - and probably the best or second best team in this thing.

Just to keep with the theme of the thread - I am very thankful for the 12-4 record. Winning 3/4 of their games is no easy task. Yet the Steelers seem to do it with regularity - and with a different cast of characters each time. Here's to a new year, a new season, and hopefully, a deep run through this tournament. I'm thankful for each additional game at this point.

Tough year with all the injuries but 12-4 and in the playoffs is better than the teams sitting at home with losing records. :)

I'll take 12-4 and a playoff appearance any season...

That being said, how crazy is it that 1 win separates us from being a 5th seed Wildcard and 1st Seed Home-Field-Advantage and a first-round bye? How big does that Houston debacle look now?

Congrats, very good record, especially with the injuries we've had. I think people forget how hard it is to win in this league.

Now on to Denver! :herewego: :flag:

Look around the league. How many teams are encouraged because their team won 7 games? I believe Howie Long said that the Eagles start off next year as one of the favorites. Why? The 2009 Pittsburgh Steelers were 9-7 and the season was a dissapointment. I have to laugh at all the teams who win less and see progress. Since 1970, this is the 26th time that the Steelers have made the playoffs. Of those 26 trips, 15 times the Steelers have made it to the AFC Championship Game. Maybe this isn't their year, but the Steelers are tied with the Cowboys with 33 playoff wins. It is time to break that tie. Furthermore, a road win will tie Roethelisberger in total road playoff wins with Sloppy Joe and Sanchez. Then the next week, Ben can take the lead!

    Go Steelers!

I'd say the 92 yards we let flacco go stings a little more than the Houston loss. That's the one thing we can point to that cost us #1 overal seed

Of course, I'd take back either of the Baltimore losses. But those I can stomach a bit more since it was a decent team that beat us (can't believe I just said that..just threw up in my mouth a little). But Houston? I'm sorry, but that one just sticks in my craw. Along with Denver, they are another team that doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Houston is a good team. If not for them losing their QB, they would be a superbowl contender for sure, and they actually might still be one. No way they should be taken lightly.

Okay, I have no problem not taking Houston likely. We won't see them until the Championship game. The only other team I'd prefer over them would be the Bengals.

Definitely, no way we should have let Flacco do that. Houston at the time was playing good football and was healthy, that one doesn't bother me nearly as much as letting a game slip away like we did against the Rats.

    well I think I predicted 10-6 :(
TTF next year you should have a record prediction and then somehow save it and see who had the best score
