With 50 seconds left on the clock, Wing's 29 yard punt gave the Bucs very good field position, which led to the game winning touchdown. Do you think the team will replace him this week?

I am not sure if you are serious with this post or not. He has been solid, so I would keep him. If we played to get a first down, we wouldn't have had to punt, so essentially a coaching error led to his demise if he were to have been replaced.

Charlie said he fully expects Colbert and Tomlin will be checking the wires tomorrow. However, I will say that I thought it was stupid to take a 5yd penalty there because his leg is weak anyway. I would have rather had the 5yds added to his inconsistent leg than to take a couple of extra seconds off. Our D needs ALL the help they can get. I say he doesn't make it through the year though. Man I wish Sep could have stayed healthy!

Trying to pick the "one bad play" that made a difference in this one is stupid.

If Tomlin decides to use Brad "f'ing" Wing as the scapegoat for his poorly lead, undisciplined and stupid football team, I will blow a gasket (if I haven't already).

Thats what Wing does, has those clunkers. They have to decide if they can live with those clunkers, that one hurt a lot. You can point a finger at a lot of reasons for losing today, thats one of them.

Wouldn't be surprised if they replaced him.

In fairness though, Wing has been (forgive me) living on a prayer all year anyway. He is basically just keeping the seat warm for the next guy and Tomlin has shown that he's not afraid to let punters go. He may be a players coach but he is certainly not a punter's coach. LOL.

Somebody's got to pay for this crappy performance today! It's either the punter or the equipment manager, take your pick.

Not trying to find the one bad play, but if you wanted to try, that one would certainly jump out at you. I wouldn't blow a gasket personally as Wing has been inconsistent.

Where do you get that he has a weak leg?

The kid has been solid for most of the year and he's flipped the field a few times already this year. Something that hasn't been happening when the Steelers have been punting over the last few years.

He had a really bad one at a totally ill-timed moment. He'll learn and move on. Hell by that standard Heath losing a fumble should be gone already and Ben taking sacks to take the team out of field goal range.....

Well, with that AND the fact my fantasy team won by 1 point with a couple of Jimmy Graham receptions in garbage time, I think I'll call it a day. Good night, everyone. :hello:

He was playing so bad in preseason it was a toss up whether or not he would make the team even. Either his leg is weak or it is inconsistent. Charlie Batch flat out said today that he thinks he is probably gonna be cut.

The Kid is a rookie. Yes he's inconsistent at this point, it's his 4th game.

Well tell the staff this because a former player with close ties to the team thinks he is gonna be gone. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over him because we need all the help we can get and with a d that leaks like a flat tire and we really need to be able to reverse field position.

That's the essence of the answer: No, we can't live with those chunkers. Not with the way our D plays it's 4th quarters during close games.

Punters are a dime a dozen.

I don't really care if he keeps his job or not. But I'm also not going to lay the blame for this loss on him. It was a horrible punt at a horrible time. We still could have and should have stopped them.

I'm just confused. You had all off-season to figure out your punter and carried 2 through training camp! They had a retread last year who never flipped the field and hang times were average at best. He was replaced by Wing this year.

Scapegoating the punter accomplishes nothing with regard to the problems this team has right now.

I would have him (and others) out of here
so fast it would make their head spin. If I was Art II

:roflmao:... what's really funny is that we will probably see this play out. It's obviously unacceptable to shank a punt in that situation. obviously.
