I've been wondering whether or not the game Sunday against the Panthers was the best game we've had in the last two or three seasons. We've had some good games the last couple of seasons dating back to 2011, the Bengals drubbing last year and the shutout of the Seahawks the year before come to mind, but it's been a long while since we seemed to dominate in all three phases of the game like we did the other night. AND...I'd give our coaching a solid A too. We seemed to have a solid gameplan on both offense and defense and it was executed to perfection by the players. GREAT all around game and I hope there's more to come!

What do you think? Best game in three seasons or not?

It's up there for sure, only thing that makes me nervous is we were playing a running QB that couldn't even walk. I just wonder how much that helped our defence and if just maybe they didn't look better than they otherwise would have.

We got Carolina at the best possible time, so I hope our guys don't suddenly get big heads because they smoked a very good team

My favorite Steelers game of the past few years as far as coming out and executing a gameplan that plays to our opponent's weakness was the game against the Pats in 2011. We just seemed like a really smart team that day.

Yep, I remember that game very clearly. We played well and our game plan couldn't have been better. We played man and pressed the WR's at the line all game long. Then the very next week we went back to a 10 yard gap. So frustrating

I know dude. I think that was actually our last good game of that season. Woodley got hurt that day and it wound up hurting us pretty bad on D after that.

THAT was a great game! Why have games like that been the exception and not the rule the past few years?

Weve been wondering that for a while now. Had we had that plan against GB and I can't understand why we didn't, we'd be playing for #8. In the spirit of that, I think that GB Super Bowl gave D.L. That idea to hammer a spread with men across the line.

It just seems like we need "something" to play for. Like the rats game when Charlie came in and won in their house. That game was awesome and we played with a ton of passion that day. It kills me that we can't show that much heart all the time. Players were actually having like emotional bro moments after that game and everything! LOL!

YESSS!!! I believe we played man defense in that game and, also, Heath was a HUGE part of the game plan and they had no answer for him!

I was going to say the same thing. That was my favorite game from the last several seasons for sure.

We weren't just a smart team, we were a tougher team, that was a Cowher style beat down win!!!!

We haven't really just beat down teams right out the gates for 60 minutes like that in a long time.

I agree w/others that the win over the Pats during that 12-4 season was the pinnacle of their play.

Also, not to be a Debbie Downer, but the win over the Panthers was solid, especially the running in the 2nd half, but there are quite a few things to pick on w/the game. They had only 9 points and no TD's at half time, they had a plethora of penalties, and the 1st TD doesn't happen if not for a boneheaded encroachment penalty on Carolina.

Aye. I think that, after all the depression of the last two games, it's good to get excited about Steeler football again. But it was still touch and go for a bit. There's room to grow. The difference between this week and last week is that we've seen what the team is capable of.

The first TD could have come earlier had the refs not botched the Wheaton call.

It probably was the best win because they got back to Steelers football. I think getting blown out and embarrassed by their rival the Ravens, along with the extra time to prepare for the Panthers made a big difference in the Panthers game.
