My husband and I will be attending the Nov 2nd game at Heinz field for our 20th anniversary. I'm a bit nervous but more so excited. Any advice from those that attend home games on a regular basis would be appreciated. I've never been to Pittsburgh but want the experience to be memorable. :applaud:

Not much advice, as I`ve only attended a couple of games at Heinz, but dress warm, since Nov 2nd is bound to be colder than you are used to in AZ!
And congrats to your hubby, on landing a wife that will celebrate your anniversary at a Steeler game!
Hopefully you will be staying at a hotel close to the stadium, that offers shuttle service to the game.
If not, a cab ride to the game would be advisable...
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city, with a lot of sightseeing oppurtunites, if you have the time(I personally recommend the Dusquene(sp?) incline)... but the downtown roads, bridges and tunnels, can be a nightmare to navigate for an outsider.;)... Or have a really good G.P.S., with you...:smiley1:
The experience will certainly be memorable, no matter what you do...
There is nothing like seeing the sea of Black-n-Gold jerseys coming into the stadium, overflowing the surrounding streets...
And the excitement of facing our hated rivals, the Cravens, at home for a night game, is going to have the fans at a fever pitch!!!
Take lots of pictures, and enjoy us paying the Ravens back, for that embarassment a couple weeks ago!!!
The only thing to be nervous about is if you`re wearing a Ravens jersey...:lolol:
Even then, you would find our fans are more tolerant of opposing teams` fans, than most!!!
Just be prepared to be verbally assaulted!... LOL!
    GO STEELERS!....
Oh yeah, and GET LOUD!!!! We like to hear our fans, when we watch on tv!!!

If you're staying overnight, visit a Primanti Brothers restaurant anywhere but in the stadium. (The locals here can point out the best one. I always go to the one in Oakland, but I'm not a native.)

The Primanti Bro.s in the stadium just isn't the same.

Give yourself plenty of time before kickoff. Get inside as soon as they open the gates and visit the Great Hall, watch the warmups, just soak it all in.

It will very likely be cold, and with the wind blowing off the river, it can fell extremely cold to someone not used to cold weather. Then again, if you hail from the mountains in AZ, you know cold enough. But moist cold? Prepare to bundle up. November in PA is Jeckyl and Hyde. It can be 60 and sunny one day, 20 and blustery the next.

Once, a friend and I had to take a bus to a game. We couldn't tailgate that way. So we bought 2 big buckets of wings and a 30 pack of beer (all we could carry). We walked up to the first "larger" (more than 4 people) tailgating party we saw, introduced ourselves and offered what we brought. They welcomed us with open arms. :) Don't be shy, but don't come empty handed. If tailgating isn't your thing, there's plenty of good food and drink inside the stadium, but it can get pricey. Locals here can point out good places to eat before the game close to the stadium.
